DESCRIPTION:
Your lab assistant talked about the importance of getting to know and understand your
professors. There are many reasons you should do this. For example, as a student you
learn the professor’s grading style, their approachability for questions, their willingness
to adjust for circumstances, their response times for questions, etc.
From an
instructor’s point of view, getting to know students helps with writing letters of
recommendation for scholarships and jobs, making preselection for UCCS jobs, outside
internships, and permanent employment, understanding how to help the students (specific
learning styles), etc.
DELIVERABLE:
Consider the class that scares you the most for the semester. Develop a plan to get to
know that professor better. Expectation: at least two paragraphs (4-5 sentences each).
