The exposures here are repeats of selected exposures that were taken in June 2001 as part of the Cycle 11 CAL/STIS program 9617. The location of each spectrum on the detector will be compared with the pre-repair observations, to look for operationally signficant shifts. The observed line-widths will also be compared with the previous observations to look for any changes in spectral resolution. Proposal 11385 (STScI Edit Number: 0, Created: Friday, January 18, 2008 8:34:28 AM EST) - Overview OBSERVING DESCRIPTION For each STIS CCD grating, a HITM lamp spectrum will be taken to verifiy how the spectra project onto the STIS CCD detector. These exposures are repeats of selected exposures from CAL/STIS cycle 11 program 9617. This proposal fits into a single 1800 s internal visit. This proposal should execute any time after STIS-08 (11383) "aperture wheels and lamp test" has completed, but there is no need to evalulate the data from that proposal before this one executes. For each lamp spectrum obtained, compare the position of the spectral lines and the locations masked by the aperture bars to corresponding observations from program 9617. Look for any unexpected or operationally significant shifts in how the spectrum is projected onto the detector. Also, compare the line profiles for selected spectral lines to check for any changes in spectral resolution or focus across the detector. Look especially for any changes that are significant enough to affect operations or science data quality, or which might require table or database updates. 2 Exposures Visit Proposal 11385 - Visit 01 - STIS-10 CCD Optical Format Verification Proposal 11385, Visit 01 Diagnostic Status: No Diagnostics Scientific Instruments: STIS/CCD Special Requirements: GYRO MODE 3GOBAD Comments: Repeats of selected exposures from CAL/STIS cycle 11 program 9617. That program used the HITM1 lamp instead of the LINE lamp that had earlier been used for these dispersion checks, as HITM1 better illuminates the top of the CCD near the E1 position. # Label Target Config,Mode,Aperture Spectral Els. 1 NONE STIS/CCD, ACCUM, 52X0.1 G430L 4300 A 2 NONE STIS/CCD, ACCUM, 52X0.1 G430M 4451 A 3 NONE STIS/CCD, ACCUM, 52X0.1 G750L 7751 A 4 NONE STIS/CCD, ACCUM, 52X0.1 G750M 7795 A 5 NONE STIS/CCD, ACCUM, 52X0.1 G230LB 2375 A 6 NONE STIS/CCD, ACCUM, 52X0.1 G230MB 2697 A Fri Jan 18 13:34:29 GMT 2008 Opt.
