RPC2™ Communications Module Quick-Start Guide Install and Configure the Module 1. Find the communication card bay on the rack PDU. It may have a removable cover. 2. Insert the RPC2 module into the card bay and secure it with the factory-provided screws. 3. Connect an Ethernet cable from your network to the RPC2 module’s Network port. 4. Connect an Ethernet cable from a laptop to the RPC2’s Link port. NOTE: Do not connect the Link port to your network. The RPC2’s Link port should only be used for local configuration or setting up a Rack PDU Array™. 5. Configure the laptop’s IP settings to: • IP address: 192.168.1.9 • Subnet mask: 255.255.255.252 • Default gateway: 192.168.1.1 6. Open a Web browser and enter 192.168.1.10 as the IP address for the Link port. 7. When prompted, enter admin for both the username and password and click Login. 8. Click the System tab then click Network in the side navigation bar. 9. Use the drop-down menu to select the speed/duplex, and select the boot mode. 10. If using static boot mode, enter the IP address, subnet and gateway information. 11. Click Save and enter the newly configured IP address in the Web browser.
