Information and Application Guidelines
(Funding for 2014-15)
Purpose of the CEHHS Student Research Support Initiative
CEHHS will support undergraduate and graduate research assistants to work with and support
faculty/staff research. This initiative is aligned to the following CEHHS Strategic Planning goals:
Improve student engagement, critical thinking, and retention through the application of evidence-based
practice, increased rigor, and applied learning experiences throughout the curriculum, including
undergraduate and graduate student research; Facilitate inter-and intra-disciplinary collaboration among
faculty, staff, and students in teaching, research, scholarship and service; Support capacity building and
expansion of funded research.
Up to $20,000 will be provided to support undergraduate and graduate research assistants to work with
faculty/staff for up to 10 hours per week during the academic year. The students will provide assistance
that supports the faculty/staff research and will be selected and supervised by the faculty/staff who are
awarded this student research assistant funding. If applicable, selected students will be responsible for
notifying their financial aid counselor. Depending on the student’s level of experience and expertise,
