GLOBAL SOUTH-SOUTH CREATIVE WEEK
An integral part of activities of the UN Pavilion at the Shanghai World EXPO 2010
The Global South-South Creative Week 2010 is a series of events aimed at promoting innovative
mechanisms for South-South transfer of development experiences and solutions. It is an integral
component of the United Nations inter-agency initiative, the Creative Economy for Development
Programme, facilitated by the Special Unit for South-South Cooperation. Current leading partner
organizations include: ILO, UNCTAD, UNDP, UNESCO, UN-Habitat, UN Volunteers and WIPO. All relevant
UN organizations, specialized agencies, regional economic and social commissions and Member States are
invited to participate.
The WEEK is hosted by the South-South Gate in the context of its SS-GATE Convention 2010. The
WEEK will provide an opportunity for the Global South to share knowledge, innovative solutions
and demonstrated results produced by creative activities in several dimentions. The Global SouthSouth Creative Week will focus on advancing mechansisms that facilitate transfer of technology,
konwoledge and creative solutions to development and value chains that generate sustainable
value in the economic, social, environmental and cultural dimensions of development.
