6532.8 - Collection for Meals. Prescott National Forest employees away from their official duty
station fighting fire within the protective boundaries of the Prescott National Forest will be
provided meals and lodging in lieu of per diem. They will be on regular per diem for fire
assignments on other Forest or outside of the protective boundaries.
Employees, at their official duty station working in support of fires, cannot be provided
government meals free of charge. If the circumstances require the Forest Service to furnish
meals, a payroll deduction is required. This would include employees held at their official
station in a standby status.
Employees in per diem travel status will deduct each meal provided by the Government from
their travel voucher.
