The Forest Supervisor delegates to District Rangers authority to issue special use permits for the
following type of use:
1. Standardized Term Special Use Permits for Recreation Residences for up to 20 years.
Exceptions to the above, where the authority to grant these permits is reserved by the Forest supervisor
and/or Regional Forester, include:

1. If the project involves potential environmental impacts that could be significant enough to
require an Environmental Impact Statement.
District Rangers will furnish the Supervisor's Office with a copy of each permit along with any
subsequent permit amendments or actions. In cases where the Forest Supervisor has retained authority,
the District will prepare the pertinent documents for the Forest Supervisor's signature.
