Please explain.
I think the class is very informative and a good class to take
This course was not only interesting but can be used in my career at Micron.
Provides brief exposure to a large variety of subjects that could be classes in themselves.
Dr. Knowlton is very interested in teaching this course and having his students learn. His enthusiasm is eveident and that makes
his classes enjoyable and learner friendly. His hand outs allow a student to listen and ask questions instead of haul ass and get as
much of the information down in notes as possible.
very interesting material
Instructor (Dr. Bill Knowlton, not Stephen Parke) seemed genuinely interested in helping the students learn the material and do
well. The class teaches very useful topics, even though I'm not interested greatly in this area of electrical engineering.
The material in this course was very thought-provoking and relevant to current industry applications.
Dr. Knowlton was very far in the way he graded and evaluated us in this class
Course is very good at outlining the semiconductor process flows and going into the proper amount of depth.
I thought that this course was well tought, and well organized
I feel the quality of the course was great. I feel the material is benefical for students.
this a very useful course for a process engineer and i am benefited by it.
I learned a lot in this class.
This is a great introductory course.
Although I didn't always feel like it was a processing course. however I did learn alot of information
Learned alot from this class
This was a good introducing to IC processing.
I felt the material covered was interesting, and would be useable in the future. I felt the instructor was effective at instructing, and
cared for the progress of the students.

Overall, how would you rate the quality of this instructor?
The instructor really wants you to learn and understand the material that is being covered.
Dr.Knowlton is a very good instructor who actually cares about his students and their ability to learn the material.
Seems to care that the material is learned by the students.
See above
clearly taught everything that we needed to know about the material and what we needed for the test
Great guy. Good thorough instruction. Great instructor to go to for out of class help.
Dr. Knowlton is genuinely interested in passing the knowledge he has learned in practice and in the industry to his students. Any
questions that students have he is more than willing to spend extra time so that the students understand the concept and not just
the way it works out.
Dr. Knowlton is a good instructor. The only possible criticism I could lodge, is that he has a tendency to open too many class
issues to debate. It would seem that the fairest approach would be to just make a decision.
One of the best instructors I have had. Really cares about teaching and students. He has already done a better job than most
experienced professors I had as an undergrad at a large university. I'm sure he'll continue to get even better as he continues to
teach.
I feel Bill goes out of his way to help students understand the material. Bill was always willing to help.
he expplains the topic very well and tskes time in explaining it personnally in his office and he is very freindly.
Dr. Knowlton is a great instructor.
He tests on what he teaches what more can you ask for.
did a very good job. communicates well with students
The instructor was excellent. He was very fair and made sure we were learing.
He did a good job of explaining the material in the course, and assigned a resonable workload.

Always well prepared. Genuine concern for the students. Availablity was consistent with his "full time" status at the university.
Knowledgable, but honest if didn't know the answer to a question. Good motivator.
The in class activities, and the practice exams were very useful.
Knowing exactly what to study for quizzes and tests. No surprises.
Enthusiasm, approach, organization(hand outs), flexibility, interest to see the student succeed and learn.
Good at giving out of class, very thorough in his instruction. Very fair grader.
I have truly enjoyed my experience in Dr. Knowltons class. From my experience I would not change a thing from his teaching
style or manner of teaching.
The real-world examples throughout the course were very informative. The handouts were exceptional and will surely provide
good reference materials for years to come.
He is very genuine and cares that we do well in his class
Industry examples. Examples of latest challenges and problems yet to be solved.
Very well prepaired, especialy liked the visual aids.
his frankness if he didn't know the answer in accepting that fact and then comming back the next lecture with answer for it.
I really liked the handout that he gave for the lecture and that he really cared whether or not the students learned something out of
the class.
His handouts.
it was interesting

10.
What suggestions do you have for improving the course/instructor's performance?
•
Maybe giving homework instead of quizes. I really did not spend much time doing work outside of class.
•
•
Monotone voice needs to end somehow. Need more quizzes to allow for the mistake on a quiz, or have some homework.
Do more examples in class. At times I felt like I knew how to do the problems correctly based on what was being taught, but I
kept getting different answers than those the instructor said were correct.
It almost seems that this should be a two-semester course. We kept a brisk pace the entire semester, but there are still lots of
topics we didn't get to.
I think a few more a examples like the homework would be very heplful
Might help to present the general process flow at the beginning of class a little more so others that are not in industry yet have a
better picture where we are going and how each step fits into the general framework. Not too big of a deal though.
making the HW count for the grade too.
ask people more in class questions.
leave more room for test 3
