For all medium to large central office applications, Emerson Network Power offers the
CODS2 modular distribution system. The CODS2 is the latest state-of-the-art central office system, with flexibility that enables Emerson to engineer a system to meet your specific application. The CODS2 can be configured for side-by-side jumper administration by using our patented over and under arrangement.
The framework lineup is ordered and installed in modular increments. Two modules are joined together to form a CODS2 section, which can protect and terminate 7200 cable pair, as well as 956 equipment and tie pairs. These sections are joined together in one or more lineups to obtain the desired capacity. Vertical jumper troughs are provided between each frame section for jumper access to horizontal jumper troughs and access to the express trough at the top of the frame for long jumpers.
The protection side of the frame mounts the Emerson front-administered RG70 Central
Office Connector. This connector is equipped with four 25-pair RJ2 connectors on the equipment side of the protection to provide convenient terminations.
The cross-connect side of the CODS2 frame has twelve horizontal mounting shelves, six blocks wide, to hold a maximum of 72 line terminal blocks on each frame section. The horizontal terminal block shelves are separated by horizontal jumper troughs equipped with grooming bars for organized jumpering.
The CODS2 frame employs the rotating high density 2376, 2377, and 2378 Series line terminal blocks, which offer a choice of single wire-wrap, bifurcated quick-clip, or bifurcated wire-wrap terminals. These blocks are available in connectorized and non-connectorized versions in pair counts to match specific applications.
The CODS2 incorporates tie cables engineered to specific requirements, which enables
OSP cables on the protector side to count in sequential order.
The CODS2 system is designed for medium to large central office applications. The CODS2 is a complete system, with all frame modules, connectors, terminal blocks, and tie cables engineered to meet specific applications.
