Office Hours: Monday and Wednesday 12-2 pm , Tuesday and Thursday 11 am-2 pm Course Description: Functions, Trigonometry, and Linear Systems (Credit 4). Graphs, functions, college algebra and trigonometry, linear systems and vectors. Textbook: WebAlg by David Manuel, Michael Stecher, and Patti Wells. The textbook is accessed online through your WebAssign account. See Homework below. Calculator: You will not use calculators on exams or quizzes but we will sometimes use a TI 83 plus for class demonstrations. Some homework problems might require a calculator. You will also have occasional quizzes in lecture that might or might not be announced. If you miss a quiz, you must contact me by email or in person by the next day with your reason. If the reason is accepted, you will be given a make up quiz during my office hours or in Blocker 601. Exams: There will be 3 midterm exams and a comprehensive final. See the weekly schedule below for tentative exam dates. If you miss an exam you must email me by the next day with your reason. If the reason is accepted, you will be given a make-up exam in Blocker 601 which is open from 8-noon and from 1-5 pm. You must have a full 75 minutes not overlapping the lunch hour to take the exam. Homework: All graded homework is done online through WebAssign. You will always access WebAssign at www.math.tamu.edu/courses/eHomework The text book will be available at this site after you pay the online homework fee of approximately $50. The eHomework website has student information videos to help you with registration and paying the fee. You will have one assignment each week due on Tues night at 11:55 pm.
