PATRICK OLOMU, MD, FRCA Dr. Patrick N. Olomu obtained his Medical Degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 1985. Following a rotational internship and mandatory National Service, he started his Anesthesiology training in 1988 in Benin-­‐City, Nigeria and continued his training in Germany and the United Kingdom. His United States training began in 1995 with a surgical internship at The University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile, AL. He completed his Anesthesiology residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago in 1999 and then completed a one-­‐year Pediatric Anesthesiology fellowship at Children's Hospital Boston and Harvard Medical School. He worked in Private Practice in San Antonio for almost 8 years before joining UTSW in September 2008. He is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Management and an Attending Pediatric Anesthesiologist at Children's Medical Center Dallas. Dr. Olomu is certified and re-­‐certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Anesthetists of the United Kingdom. He also has a Diploma of Anesthesiology from Nigeria and the United Kingdom. His areas of interest are: Anesthesia for high-­‐risk neonatal and pediatric surgery, anesthesia for endocrine surgery, advanced pediatric airway management and global health and education. He is a co-­‐author of "A Glossary of Medical Physiology" and has publications in the area of pediatric airway management and anesthetic effects on the developing brain.
