Overview
The Jet Mixer system is one of the lightest and most
compact single-use mixing systems available on the
market. This mixer is ideal where portability, reliability,
ease of use and a small footprint are invaluable assets.
The Jet Mixer single-use system is specifically designed
to give you fast, efficient, cost effective, homogeneous
mixing of liquids with differing densities. It can be used
for the final homogenization of product prior to the
filling line, as well as for re-suspending solutions and
re-homogenizing liquids after transport and storage.
The Jet Mixer system utilizes single-use mixing systems
made from our Allegro™ TK8 bioprocess film. The
product-contact layer of the film is blow extruded in-house
at Pall Life Sciences under cleanroom conditions using
medical-grade ultra-low-density polyethylene resin. It is
then laminated to create a gas barrier film of exceptional
cleanliness, strength and clarity that is animal derived
component free (ADCF) and complies fully with USP
Class VI requirements.

Operation
The single-use component of the Jet Mixer system is
the Jet Mixer biocontainer. Each biocontainer contains
mixing technology in the form of an integrated
magnetically impelled turbine, secured to the bottom
center of the biocontainer. The turbine works like a
centrifugal pump by drawing liquid in vertically and
expelling it horizontally along the bottom, through
specifically designed outlets, towards the corners
of the biocontainer. When the liquid flow reaches the
biocontainer corner, it is forced up to the top of the
biocontainer, from where it is drawn back down into the
pump. This mixing regime ensures the fluid volume within
the biocontainer is continually recirculated.
