Completion of the Integrated Elementary Education – Special Education Dual Certification Major
(EESE) at Towson University fulfills the requirements for a Bachelor’s of Science (B.S.) degree and
Maryland State Certification in Elementary Education (grades 1-8) and Special Education (grades 1-8).
Graduates from an approved Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT) degree in Elementary Education will
be admitted into the EESE major at Towson University. Towson University requires submission of
documentation of passing scores on the PRAXIS I as established by MSDE prior to admission to the
University’s EESE program.
The total number of Towson University units to be completed is 72. The following courses must be
