Overview of FRESH FRESH is a suite of courses for experienced teachers of Key Stage 3 and 4 mathematics. MEI holds the NCETM CPD Standard and Debbie is an NCETM Accredited PD Lead. Participant profile FRESH courses are aimed at experienced mathematics teachers wanting to extend and improve their practice in specific areas of mathematics pedagogy at Key Stages 3 and 4. This family of courses developed in response to experienced teachers expressing a demand for short PD, having less capacity to commit to long term PD programmes due to other commitments. Structure The intention is that each FRESH day is a standalone course, but can be combined with other titles to form a complementary programme of professional development. The fee for each day is £125 per participant. At any given time there will be about six titles for a host school to choose from. The following information does not form an agreement, but outlines some of the key arrangements. MEI responsibilities Use of national networks and communication channels to publicise your course day(s). Online registration of participants and collection of £125 fee. Tutoring, resources and materials for study days. Certification of attendance for participants. Partner responsibilities Use of local networks and communication channels to publicise the course and recruit a minimum of 14 and a maximum of 20 participants. Coordinate any procedures for car parking (if available) Provide a suitable work room and facilities. Provide refreshments. Finances MEI will pay the venue £600 per study day. If more than 14 bookings are made for the course (i.e. if there are more than 15 people in total, including the course leader), then MEI pays the venue an additional £25 per person per day for the additional catering costs.
