With over 110,000 square feet (10,200 m2) of production space and a 100-ton crane capability, the Houston Service Center is well equipped to respond quickly to your service needs. 4 5 Advanced engines Advanced components Advanced repairs Gas turbine components serviced and repaired include: Blade rings and seal housings - weld repair, restoration of sealing surfaces, re-rounding, stress relief, resealing of inter-stage seals, and compressor blade ring coatings Turbine vane segments - weld repair, dimensional restoration, machining, functional fit inspections, and coatings Compressor diaphragms - weld repair, dimensional restoration, airfoil reforming, vane replacement, stress relief, and coatings Combustor baskets and transitionsweld repair, dimensional restoration, component replacement, and coatings 6 Fuel nozzles including Dry and Ultra Low NOx (DLN / ULN) - testing of air flow and fuel flow, repairs, rocket replacements and alignment verification The state-of-the-art Repair Technology Center (RTC) within our Repair Network focuses exclusively on repair development for turbine components. Turbine blades - full tip restoration, shrouded blade contact pad restoration, MCrAIY, TBC and hardface coatings, flow testing, and moment weigh The RTC allows reduced development lead-time on key technologies in addition to providing cost competitive repairs. The RTC has expedited development of strategic processes and technology such as: Fluoride ion cleaning (FIC) Advanced laser welding (Alloy 247) Narrow-and wide-gap brazing of ECY 768 and IN939 materials Each year, Siemens invests millions of dollars to keep its repair technology, capabilities, and facilities on the leading edge of the service solution industry. Cutting-edge white light scanning that creates a digital representation of your parts and compares the image to an existing 3-D model to show deviations from the original specifications Additionally, the RTC Met Lab is dedicated to analysis for new process development. 7 Proven repair techniques to extend the life of your components. The Houston Service Center provides complete service of your parts from inspection and expert advisement to advanced repair, coating, and final delivery. Beyond common techniques, the Repair Network applies advanced processes in the following repair competencies: Non-destructive examination (NDE): At the Houston Service Center, multiple inspection techniques provide the most comprehensive diagnosis of your parts’ damage modes. Inspection is provided through: 8 Coordinate measurement machine (CMM) which measures precise geometric dimensions of components to show a more accurate determination of the service run condition of a part Infrared thermography (IR) Radiographic testing (RT) Magnetic particle testing (MT) Ultrasonic testing (UT) Eddy current testing (ET) Fluorescent penetrant inspection testing (PT) Visual inspection testing (VT) Full in-house coating capabilities: The Houston Service Center utilizes a fully closed-loop control system for APS and HVOF coating of turbine parts. Multiple coating booths are available to handle specialized coating needs for TBC, wear-resistant coatings (Chrome Carbide, T-800), and many other advanced coating techniques and materials. Coating preparation is achieved with automated grit blasting, and on premises Production Met Lab analysis allows for prompt verification of coating success. A full range of in-house capabilities are available to meet your coating needs on combustion components, turbine blades, and vanes. Advanced and mature fuel nozzle repairs: The Repair Network’s Houston facility is a center of competence in the testing and repair of fuel nozzles and support housings. A full range of testing is conducted on DLN/ULN nozzles as well as a wide variety of combustion components. Upon analysis of testing results, repair or complete replacement of components is performed at the facility. In-house product modifications: As turbine parts are modified and upgraded, design changes are implemented during the repair process to help enhance product reliability and plant efficiency. The Houston Service Center has four heat treat furnaces and four vacuum furnaces dedicated to development and production for multiple components. Your local platform team has specific details and examples to share. Machining and verification of turbine parts: Advanced equipment is used to machine and verify components. The fiber-optic laser welder with vision system permits precise and accurate weld build-up on complex material structures. The axis milling and grinding machines probe and recreate OEM airfoil and shroud profiles and robotic APS and HVOF coaters repeat programmed paths to ensure consistent applications. Portable and table coordinate measuring machines verify geometries with the utmost precision. Calibrated fixtures ensure that components meet OEM specifications. Air and fuel flow testing is performed with fixtures for nozzles, baskets, vanes, and blades. Component identification: Siemens’ repair facilities engrave a unique identifier on each part, which allows us to track every component during its service life cycle. Siemens shares this information with customers, as it helps maintain a valuable part history for future reference. Specialized component containers: Siemens offers all-weather shipping containers, specifically engineered to house the critical-to-quality elements of your parts for better protection during transport and storage. 9 Our team makes the difference The most advanced technology and modern equipment must have skilled operators.
