Biographical Note Murat R. Karimsakov President of the “Eurasian Economic Club of Scientists” Association and Deputy Chairman of “G-Global” Secretariat Mr. Murat Karimsakov is President of the Eurasian Economic Club of Scientists Association (EECSA) and Deputy Chairman of the G-Global Secretariat, both of which are based in Kazakhstan’s capital of Astana. In each of the past three years he has led an EECSA team that has put together the Astana Economic Forum, one of the world’s premier economic conferences. Before assuming his current duties, Mr. Karimsakov worked on the team running the Kazakhstan government’s Joint Investment Fund and Corporate Investment Fund. He also served as the Chairman and the Deputy Director-General of ABK Group. Prior to that, from 2003 to 2005, he held various positions in the Investment Fund of Kazakhstan and Ministry of Finance. Mr. Karimsakov has spoken at conferences around the world, including a number of United Nations. He has published more than 30 academic papers and articles. Last year he received the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences’ Order of the Golden Eagle, a letter of appreciation for his body of work from Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, and a Republic of Kazakhstan 20th-Anniversary Commemorative Medal. Mr. Karimsakov holds a bachelor’s degree with honors from Belarus State University (1991) and an MBA degree with focus on “Western Management practice: current trends and perspectives”, London, United Kingdom, 2012. He speaks English, Russian and Kazakh. Born on September 11, 1966, in Almaty, he is married with three children.
