Version: 1 www.siemens.com/steamturbines Siemens SST-5000 series Overview A broad range of turbine modules meet individual requirements for power ratings and steam parameters. Preassembled modules reduce coordination effort, on-site assembly time, and technical risk. Their modularized design guarantees technical replicability. For each project, Siemens customizes the turbine train and blade path to ensure optimal performance. The highest reliability and availability are proven by a forced outage rate that is less than half the North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) average. Siemens Steam Turbines of the SST-5000 series are operated in combined cycle power plants (CCPP) and in coal-fired steam power plants (SPP). The SST-5000 steam turbine combined with a SGT-8000H gas turbine, achieves a world record efficiency of 61.5 percent in combined cycle applications. The SST-5000 series consists of a combined highpressure/intermediate-pressure (HI) turbine, and a low-pressure (LP) turbine. 4 [1] High-pressure/intermediatepressure turbine It is installed as a low- or high-level arrangement. There are various exhaust configurations available to create an optimized plant layout: down-, single-, and double-sided. [2] Low-pressure turbine [3] Valve Various extractions are possible for feed water preheating (up to 9 stages), process steam, and district heating. [4] Crossover pipe [5] Bearing 2 5 1 Turbines of the SST-5000 series are operated in about 130 units in various power plant sites.
