Jan. 14 | 4pm | Jonas 110 Please join us this Thursday at 4:00 p.m. in Jonas 110 for Professor Ann Porter's lecture, "Stuffies, Sex and the Contemporary Counter‐Reformation." This presentation will use visual images to investigate the idea of a contemporary Counter‐Reformation. Like the Counter‐Reformation initiated by the Catholic church to guard against the perceived heresy of Protestantism, so the cultural conservatism of the 1950’s, when challenged by the explorations of the 1960’s, created a conservative backlash that is still with us today. Examples of this phenomenon will range from Lassie, Barbie and Willem de Kooning to Hello Kitty, Mike Kelly and Furry Conventions. ‐‐Submitted by Courtney Huse‐Wika ‐ 1‐11 Bon Voyage Reception ‐ Nolan and Rebecca Schneider Jan. 14 | 3‐5pm | Woodburn 115 Please join the Office of the President, the Office of Admissions and the Office of International Relations in thanking Rebecca and Nolan Schneider for their work at BHSU.
