Mr. Greene will be doing a presentation on Friday, Dec 11 at 1:30 p.m. in Meier Recital Hall. His presentation is titled ‐ “Lakota Memories of Wounded Knee, 1890: Perspectives of a People." Check out scores, upcoming games and other news at BHSU Athletics Mr. Greene is a retired historian, curator, and manager with the National Park Service and the author of 17 books, four of which deal with South Dakota history, besides numerous articles, reviews, and government history reports, including National Historic Register and National Historic Landmark nominations. A native of northern New York State, he is a U.S. Army veteran, a graduate of Black Hills State University (1968) and the University of South Dakota (1969), and has completed postgraduate work at the University of Oklahoma. The Yellow Jacket SAAC is asking for help in collecting non‐perishable food items and canned goods to help beat tech. Black Hills State hosts South Dakota Mines in basketball on Thursday, December 3, with a doubleheader beginning at 5:30 p.m. The overall winner will be the school that collects the most canned goods and non‐perishable food items by weight. ‐‐Submitted by BHSU Athletics – 12‐1 SD CEO Holiday Party SD CEO will host the monthly Women in Networking lunch at the BHSU Joy Center. The work demonstrates a year‐long commitment, by students, to master creative lighting techniques within the photographic medium. Also opening Dec. 8 from 4‐6 p.m. in the Upper Photographers Gallery in Jonas Hall is Secrets of Childhood, by Joe Geyer and the Annual Contemporary Issues Exhibition, Bare Originality, in the Lower Photographers Gallery. Both exhibits will be on display through February. The exhibition is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday‐Friday. Black Hills State University Honors Program students came up with the idea of how to learn faster and easier. Megan Hohn, elementary education and early childhood special education major from Parkston, will present her Honors capstone defense “So Much More Than Just A Game: A Complete Summer Program Curriculum For School‐Age Children Aligned to Education Standards.” Hohn will present during the final Geek Speak lecture of the fall semester, Thursday, Dec. 3 at 4 p.m. in room 110 of Jonas Hall on the BHSU campus. The lecture is free and open to the public. More than 200 students will graduate at BHSU fall commencement ceremony More than 200 candidates for graduation will be recognized during the 170th Black Hills State University commencement ceremony.
