Job Description:
As a Backend End Central Team Test Hardware Design Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will
be responsible for the development, improvement and qualification of new and existing equipment
and tooling.
You will work with Test Engineering, Equipment Design teams, Product Development teams,
Suppliers and other manufacturing central team resources to specify, develop, integrate and qualify
hardware and interfaces for manufacturing. You will provide direction and assistance in the US and
internationally with the aim at enabling new technology, reducing overall cost, increase yield,
reliability, safety, and product quality.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Hardware and handler change kit design, development, and manufacturing for Automated Test
Equipment and handling systems that will deploy across multiple production sites worldwide.
- Establish new hardware specifications, design requirements, and qualification processes.
- Manage projects from definition through first of kind deployment into production to meet product
schedules.
- Manage area(s) of responsibility to meet expectations of BCT programs and business processes.
- Responsible for Change Management (CM), and other key business processes for area of
responsibility.
- Establish technical expertise on equipment and provide technical support to internal and external
customers.
- Mentor, lead, and/or collaborate with global CST teams as required.
- Identify and determine origin of deviation, isolate cause and provide solutions.
- Develop, coordinate and drive experiments and data collections across the manufacturing sites to
make data driven decisions.
- Design, fabricate, assemble and qualify new designs.
- Design with safety, ergonomic and Micron device quality considerations utilizing Design and
Process FMEA.
- Develop new equipment and modification procedures, training, and documentation.
- Be able to present data, design reviews and information to manufacturing, technical teams and
management effectively.
- Occasional travel required.

Qualifications:
Successful candidates for this position will have:
- Solid basics in: design, implementation, materials selection, thermodynamics, CAD, design of
experiments, statistical understanding, ergonomic and safety controls.
- Working knowledge of any CAD package.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) including tolerance stack-up
analysis.
- Must be able to present data, design reviews, and information to production and management.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and see them to conclusion based on a given
timeline
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Project management skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
Preferred experience:
- Knowledge of equipment design and development.
- Knowledge of PCB layout and manufacturing technology.
- Knowledge of electrical modeling, analysis techniques and transmission line theory.
- Experience in project management with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with supplier management.
- Proficiency in statistics, data analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Experience with Solid Edge (CAD), machining, welding, mechanics, electrical, thermal
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Required Education:
A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and/or equivalent levels of experience
and education
