The President called the meeting to order at 10:04pm in MMC 239.
Relay for Life: going well! Current status: 8 days til relay, 32 team members, 3 corporate
sponsorships, $8,001 raised!! Prizes for highest fundraisers, incentives. $10 to the book store
for the highest team, let’s do it! In order to obtain prizes: Keep fundraising, or walk two 30
minute shifts at Relay. Google spreadsheet sign up online! Walking schedule, set up, clean up,
etc. Bank night is next week Thursday to tally all cash raised.
** Keep fundraising! ($10 each)
** Decorations and costume from Professor Portfleet for Pirate Theme! Fundraiser with Mardi
Gras beads.
Last Lecture Series: November 23rd, posters need to be hung up around campus for
advertising. On Knowhope and campus wide email possible. Eight volunteers needed
designated to certain sectors (including downtonw), a few up now, a few up a week before:

3) Aftan Snyder
4) Rachel Sikkema
5) Dani Tyner
6) Kaitlin Rumsey
My Brother’s House: Thank you letter for over Homecoming weekend!
Thanksgiving Dinner: 6:00pm to 7:00/7:30pm Sunday, November 21st. 10 people have signed
up to help out, spread out among students to welcome them and to share about Mortar Board,
explain Thanksgiving and its history. Slide show during dinner with facts about its evolution.
New Member Selection: Selection process plan due by December 15th, selection date needs
to be set. Passed for Tuesday, February 15th (last night of Winter Recess) at 7:00 pm to
complete the 3 hour process. Get excited! Pizza and beverages provided. Tapping date,
initiation date, etc also have to be decided.
Disabilities Prom: December 1st, meeting for Committee next week for decorations and ideas
for the room. Thursday November 11th, at 9:00pm in MMC 239. Reminder email will be sent!
Legacy Gift and KIVA: money distributed between 5 groups/individuals, Nelia (Philippines)
funded completely at $600 dollars, the other 4 partially funded for Food/Agriculture projects. $10
for Invisible Child was collected.
Book Drive Update: Ends November 12th, $8000 money raised, 100 books collected! School
visit still tentative.
Stocking Stuffing: discussion in progress.
Dance Marathon: start thinking, participation and attendance of events wins points for Mortar
Board.
Hope Madness tomorrow night at 9:30 at Devos, James Colten will be competing to represent
Mortar Board. Free t-shirts for first 150 students sponsored by Buffalo Wild Wings, be there!
