PCOE Data Day (Sept. 18)program accomplishments—remainder to be completed by Oct 15; set meeting for
Oct. 26, 2-4pm, to review FM PLO assessments in HMS 300 & 400 and how to assess General Ed core learning
objectives in upper level FM courses
Fashion Gallery schedule for remainder of fall semester; ID/IM request granted to use Gallery Nov 9-14 for Silent
Night Auction; plan for opening Gallery T/R Oct 6-Dec10 for Café lunch attendees 11:30-12 noon and 12:45-1:15;
meeting on Oct 9, 11am with Dr. Martin, Dillon Wackerman, Steen Library Digital Archivist & John Van Behrens,
ETRC; Greer attend ORSP open house Sept 24 and set meeting on Oct 8, 2pm, with Beverly Morehouse, ORSP,
to discuss NEH grant application for costume collection; possibility introduced by Dr. Martin of having HMS Tech
worker housed in Gallery office to help with computer input to archive collection & showing images of collection
items on TV in hall near Gallery similarly to one in Griffith Fine Arts Bldg; Rebecca Matheson, NYC fashion
historian allowed to photograph sunbonnets in Costume collection in July--plans to incorporate photo of one
bonnet in her presentation & slide show at Bayou Bend Warren Symposium in Houston on ‘Women’s
Experiences Making & Wearing Sunbonnets in Texas in the 19th Century’ Oct 23-25; contacted by Patsy Hallman
to follow up with Mrs. Peggy Wright on possible donation from estate of Ernestine Fountain of WWII era
peignoir set made from parachute silk; Dr. Martin shared information about possible donation of 1960s-70s era
prom dresses by Dean Abbott
HMS Counselor Event FM display and presentation (Oct 29)
Lunch guests for FM Café table for 4 on Oct. 20 (Theresa Baker + 2)
JCFR Thanksgiving food basket service project – FM faculty to do one and FMC to do two; due Nov. 16
New location for large display case in EDAN entry when TVS put in entry for HMS & KIN; first choice—on wall of
East/West main hall between women’s restroom and EDAN 127 door which has electrical outlet for lights
HEF requests due to Dr. Martin Oct. 1 (tartan tent/tablecloths, photo backdrop/stand/carpet, television system
for Gallery, mannequins for Gallery)
Course fee deletions for HMS 260, 332, 333 & 419—Dr. Martin prepared paperwork and routed to Curriculum
committee; course fees will remain for HMS 119 and 343
HMS office hour requirements for faculty
Blue Jeans Go Green ‘tabling’ events, publicity & Green is the New Black fashion show; Cotton Inc. personnel
coming from NYC on campus Sept 15 to video—HMS faculty & student support needed to help capture the spirit
of SFA campus and project
HMS 119 Field Trip to Dallas on Dec 2
Assistance with visual merchandising from Mrs. Reese, at Reese Jewlery Open House attended by Greer Sept 24
Citizen’s Bank/James I. Perkins COE Faculty Reception on Sept 30, 4-5:30 pm
East Texas Food Bank reps visiting HMS Oct 7 to meet with HMS faculty, 1pm, Rm 115
Barnes & Noble Faculty Staff Appreciation event Oct 21, 10am-2pm
FM Blocked classes conclude end-of-day Oct 21 and senior students will begin internships Oct 22
SFASU Tartan ladies’ scarves are scheduled to be available this fall; no news from Collegiate Tartan Apparel
