Accounting Course Descriptions ACCT 6003: Principles of Business Accounting A survey of basic accounting techniques for graduate students who have not previously had an accounting course. The course addresses the fundamental mechanics of accounting, including the preparation and analysis of corporate financial statements. It also addresses operational accounting issues such as product costing, cost-volume-profit analysis, operational and capital budgeting, and performance evaluations. ACCT 6093: Special Topics in Accounting Prerequisite: ACCT 6003 Course offers an in-depth exploration of selected accounting issues affecting business. The primary focus of the course will vary from offering to offering; thus the course may be taken more than once. There is a required reseach project. Note: Students are limited to a maximum of three (3) hours of special topics credit.
