He received PhD from the University of Washington. His expertise is twentieth-century American military, political and diplomatic history, and history of the American West. Feb 2 Leroy Barber Analyzing the Dream: Urban Experience in America Leroy Barber is currently the president of Mission Year, a national urban initiative introducing 18-29 year olds to missional and communal living in city centers for one year. Rev. Barber is the pastor of Community Fellowships Church and was chosen as a contributor to UnChristian: What a New Generation Thinks About Christianity and Why It Matters. Feb 9 Steve Sherwood Inheriting the Dream: The Millennial Generation Steve Sherwood serves as the director of George Fox’s partnership with Young Life. He received his DMin from George Fox Evangelical Seminary and has been at Fox since 2004. Steve’s teaching interests and expertise center around youth ministry, emerging theology, postmodern culture, theological interaction with pop culture and narrative theology. Feb 16 TBA March 9 Pat Stone Feb 23 Cynthia Calongne and Brent Wilson Pat Stone received his PhD from Biola University in 1978 and has taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the U.S. and Kenya. He has served as a policy advisor for the United States Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs and worked as a psychologist in private practice for 22 years specializing in the treatment of military veterans. He served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was wounded in combat 1970. Constructing the Dream: Civil Society and the Role of Government Revisioning the Dream: Technology and Community Cynthia Calongne, also known as Lyr Lobo in Second Life, joined Colorado Technical University’s Computer Science Department in 1996. For thirteen years, she worked as a software engineer in support of Air Force Space Command and on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Her research includes games and game-based rubrics in education and virtual worlds. In 2005, she completed an artificial intelligence project for San Juan College and the National Science Foundation. Brent Wilson is an assistant professor of computer and information science and has been at George Fox since 1994. He is working on his PhD from Colorado Technical University. He is involved in the Center for Mobile Computing at George Fox. His expertise includes programming and specialty applications. March 2 Dirk Barram Managing the Dream: Middle Class America Dirk Barram is a professor of business and has been at George Fox since 1986. He received his PhD from Michigan State University. His areas of interest include organizational development, employee motivation, team building, communication, and human resource development. Fighting for the Dream: Veterans and Disabilities March 16 Andre Wang Seeking the Dream: Immigration Law and Policy Andre Wang is a attorney who specializes in U.S. immigration law with an emphasis in employment and family-based cases. He is member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and a Board Member for the Portland-Suzhou Sister City Association. March 30 Melanie Hulbert Sharing the Dream: Demographic Shifts and Multicultural America Melanie Hulbert is an assistant professor of sociology and has been at George Fox since 2003. She received her PhD from the University at Albany, State University of New York. Melanie specializes in sociology of work and gender issues and family. She also has interest in race/ethnicity themes.
