June 5 – 11, 2016 Overview You are invited to apply to the only Pre-Law Academy in Texas designed for high school juniors and seniors. In a week’s time, you will: Talk to federal and state judges Meet law school admissions officers Investigate a crime scene Learn to brief law cases Participate in a mock trial competition Discuss undergraduate preparations for law school Be taught by law school and university professors Study the judicial system Learn about law school admission Enjoy recreational activities Qualified students are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Certification Students who successfully complete the Pre-Law Academy receive a certification of completion. A residence hall counselor is available in the evenings for assistance and supervision. Meals are served in a university dining hall and begin with dinner June 5 and end with breakfast June 11. Program Costs Meals and a double-occupancy room for seven nights is $250. Tuition for the oneweek program (includes instruction, field trips and extra-curricular activities) is $500.
