Class Meeting Time and Location: MW 9:00 – 9:50 AM/Laney Center

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Introduce fundamentals of table tennis, tennis, and badminton.
Includes basic skills, offensive and defensive strategies and rules and regulations.

COURSE OUTCOME COMPETENCIES: At the completion of the course, the student will:

Develop an appreciation for a variety of racket sports through participation

Understand the basic rules for a variety of racket sports
ATTENDANCE & CLASS PARTICIPATION: (100 points total). Regular attendance and
participation is required. Any student who misses twenty-five (25%) or more of the regularly
scheduled class meetings will receive a grade of F for the course. Therefore, if you are absent a
total of 8 class periods, you will be given a grade of “F,” regardless of your academic standing.
TARDIES: Roll will be taken at the beginning of class. If you walk in late and attendance has already
been taken, you will be marked absent. Failure to see the instructor after class if you missed roll call will
result in being marked as absent that day.
PARTCIPATION: Students are expected to attend and participate in class discussions/activity. Points
will subtracted from your attendance grade for not participating in class.
