MINUTES – BUDGET GROUP 4:00 PM November 4, 2010 All members present except Sandore and Teper 1. Updates on costs of potential 698 contract The contract if ratified will require $17 -$20,000 be transferred from the Staff pool for proposed bonuses and shift differential. 2. Update on status of Staff Pool (originally $75k) As of the date of the meeting, the Staff pool has a small balance with the shift differential yet to be calculated. 3. Update on Reclass Pool (originally $100k) One reclass has been completed. Cindy Kelly distributed a listing of others in process or requested Considering the Staff Pool deficit, most of the $100,000 could be used up IF all currently requested are approved, which is difficult to determine at this point in time. 4. Update on status of Academic Pool Currently, due to the VSIP/VRP program, the Academic Pool has enough funds to cover Faculty and AP positions in the Hiring Plan approved by Campus, as well as possible funding for additional in FY12, pending the budget situation regarding cuts. Searches are moving very slowly through Campus channels. 5. Request from John Wagstaff regarding Slavic Position BG determined funding is available for this request. He will now need to send same to EC for determination of priority in respect to other position requests. This request is for a temporary appointment for Collections areas following the the January departure of Miranda Remnek. 6. Request from Jennifer Teper for Digital Coordinator Position BG determined funding is available for this request. She will now need to formally submit a request to EC for determination of priority in respect to other position requests. This request is to recast the position currently held by Josie Petry. 7. Neither Paula or Rod have received any information from Campus regarding Library Annual Report. However, Library recommendations for the Library/IT Fee Committee are due by February and will be an agenda item for the November 24 meeting. Next scheduled meeting, November 24 4:00 PM
