Students will work independently and in small, interdisciplinary teams on a relevant research project to understand the materials, meaning, and preservation of objects of art and cultural heritage. The collective team will grow together and function as a multidisciplinary research community over a period of several semesters developing communication and leadership and skills in research and problem solving ultimately culminating in publishable work. This class will be the first wave in a new way of learning at Boise State as part of the College of Innovation and Design.
The third offering of this course, spring 2016, will focus on archeometry of historical paintings and photographs among other potential topics.
A project or projects will be selected during the first week of class depending on the makeup and interests of enrolled students. This course is intended for individuals who have an interest in the communications and important connections between the sciences and humanities. Contact Dr. Butt for more information.
