Angela Zdanowski is a Criminalist with the Los Angeles Police Department, Scientific Investigation Division, having started her career with LAPD in 2002. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1998, with majors in Biology and Anthropology-Zoology. She then obtained a Master’s degree in Criminalistics from California State University, Los Angeles in 2005. Criminalist Zdanowski has been part of the Field Unit and is currently assigned to the Serology/DNA Unit as a DNA analyst. As part of her expertise, Criminalist Zdanowski has analyzed hundreds of pieces of DNA evidence. She has also processed over 50 crime scene investigations, and is a court-qualified expert at both the State and Federal levels. While working at the LAPD, Criminalist Zdanowski has assisted in solving cold cases with DNA and in helping eliminate a backlog of 6,132 previously untested sexual assault evidence kits. Criminalist Zdanowski is a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, the California Association of Criminalists and the California Homicide Investigators Association.
