NCCC Turning 75 Years Young in 2011!
The 75th Anniversary Committee for Neosho County Community College is seeking
items and pictures for display and the memory book during the yearlong celebration
of NCCC’s 75th anniversary in 2011 - 2012. If you have items you are willing to give
or loan please contact the Foundation office at 620-431-2820 x 243.
Kansas Deferred Maintenance Tax Credits
In 2010 Neosho County Community College must secure $347,000 in Deferred
Maintenance Tax Credit donations. The funds from these donated tax credits will
be used to add an addition onto Stoltz Hall. This addition will be known as the
“Center for Sustainable Energy” and will house the new “green” programs at NCCC.
If you have State of Kansas tax liability, these tax credits are a way to reduce your
Kansas tax liability, perhaps your federal tax liability, help build the “Center for
Sustainable Energy” at NCCC, and help students develop skills for new “green
collar” jobs. For additional information on the Deferred Maintenance Tax Credits
contact the Development Office at NCCC. Always consult with a tax advisor or an
attorney before making a contribution.
NCCC’s Dr. Smith Accepts Position in Illinois
Dr. Vicky Smith announced she has accepted the position of President at McHenry
County College. McHenry has enrollment over 3900 students and is located in
Crystal Lake, Illinois. Dr. Smith will relocate later this summer and made the
following comment; “It has been my wish to relocate nearer family when my work at
Neosho reached several goals. It has been a pleasure to become involved in the
community and watch the college succeed. The support of the community has
been essential to the success and growth NCCC has experienced.
I am leaving
the Chanute Campus with very capable, competent staff.”
Inbody Named New President at NCCC
Dr. Brian Inbody, Neosho County Community College vice president for Student
Learning for the past seven years, has been named as the college’s new
president. The NCCC Board of Trustees unanimously appointed Inbody during a
special meeting Monday night, July 19, 2010.
“The Board of Trustees of NCCC selected the best next president that Neosho
County Community College could have,” Dr. Vicky Smith said. “Brian loves the
college and is committed to helping it move even further forward. With family in the
area, this position is a great fit for him.”
Inbody has a Bachelor of Arts degree in radio, television and film and news
and public affairs, as well as a Masters degree in mass communications,
all from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. He earned his Doctorate of
Education degree at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
He and his wife, Jennifer, a counselor at Royster Middle School, have been
married for 16 years. They have two daughters, Abrielle, 10, and Alayna, 8.
I Want To Double My Donation to NCCC!
Neosho County Community College and the Neosho County Community College
Foundation received a Title III grant from the Federal Government. In the grant a
section was included to help increase the NCCC Foundation endowment fund by
$600,000. A gift of $50.00 can be contributed to the Foundation and will be
matched by the US government with $50.00. The funds will be placed in an
endowment account to earn interest for five years, after that period of time the
interest accumulated may be used for health sciences at NCCC (to train health
professionals). After 20 years the principle may be used if needed. Turn your $50,
$500, or $5,000 gift into a $100, $1,000 or $10,000 gift. Contact: Claudia
