In order to keep up with the
growth and ser-vices of the UCCS
campus, the Facilities Services
department has organized itself
into two primary areas; Planning &
Construction and Physical Plant
Maintenance. The Planning &
Construction team is actively
working major projects including
the Science and Engineering Bldg
(SENG) and the renovation of the
existing Science Bldg. The Physical
Plant team includes five work
groups; Maintenance, Grounds,
Electrical, Plumbing/HVAC, and
Custodial. Their responsibilities
include maintaining 890,675 square
feet of General Fund buildings
along with 250 acres of landscaped
property. Our Facilities Services
administrative team is the glue
that keeps our teams connected.
Each team is committed to the
continued improvement of the UCCS
campus and serving you.
The Facilities Office Administrative crew represents the glue
that keeps all the other crews at
Facilities connected. They are
the “center of the wheel” so to
speak. The Front Desk is in
the lobby area of Campus Services Building and those personnel manage all incoming
calls to the main line (x3313),
all walk-in visitors, contractors,
and customers picking up
nametags or keys. If you’re
not sure whom to speak to for
almost anything, call the Front
Desk at Facilities and we will
be glad to help! If we don’t
know the answer to your question, we’ll find out or direct you
to someone who does know.

The Science Building Renovation is proceeding on schedule. We used the Winter Break to do extensive work in the
ceilings of the classrooms, but now have them fully restored and open for the Spring Semester. At the peak of our
Winter Break push, 111 workers were involved on the project. Framing is nearly complete on both levels of the
building, drywall is ongoing, and installation of all new exterior windows begins next week. Casework for the labs
arrives in early February, with installation beginning on the lower level and proceeding through the building. After
the months of demolition and infrastructure work, all involved with the project are excited to see finishes beginning
to be installed! Look for big changes to the appearance of the building in the next few months.
