Assessment and Accreditation Committee Minutes November 14, 2012 Present: Robert Gagnon, Leslie Grant, Marcus Winters, Jayme Waddington, Patrick McGuire, Barbara Frye, Mary Snyder, Julaine Field, Grant Clayton, Joe Wehrman 1. Introduction of Grant Clayton as Data Manager 2. Mary explained how the signature assignments are used for major transition points. Discussed the variety of accreditation 3. Suggestions: Barbara F. suggested that Grant meet with each department and program to understand particular program setup and needs. Discussed role of TaskStream and Bb to identify where data lives and what we have. 4. Mary showed the database that Melissa has been working on. Discussed how ISIS can be used for first set of fields. • We will need to double check our plans and subplans to ensure accuracy. • Need to identify GPA minimums, completion of courses, passing of state content tests. • Grant discussed how students could be encouraged to confirm info (maybe by means of surveys). 5. Dispositions • Need to define in terms of large overarching categories. Important that we determine how to measure. Current dispositions form has items that are more like a behavior checklist. Checklist needed, but we want to do something different to really measure dispositions. • Counseling uses Developmental Assessment Matrix…1, 2, 3 score. Works well and has held up when challenged legally. 6. Barbara raised the possibility of submitting Transition Point Reports. 7. UCCS Teach: Vickie has been entering data on their program. Their data will mirror the COE data, and it will be found as a tab on the master data set. 8. Last 30 hours GPA found on data set not necessary. Recommend deleting it. 9. Audits—discussion around how audits work. Students meet with Bill and Ruth in Student Success for audits. Masters students don’t really have an audit. Their courses get checked when they apply for graduation. Future meeting: Continue discussion of dispositions Task: Departments to do a crosswalk of standards and key assessments. Due Dec. 1. Next meeting: TUES, Dec. 4, from 11-12:30 Respectfully submitted, Leslie Grant
