Commence restructuring of LASPA for operational effectiveness and separate Building Control from existing framework for Planning Approval, pending creation of LABCA 2. Review the Regional Plan for Lagos and prepare development plans for all levels in the State 3. Refocus Master Plans already commissioned to concentrate on upgrading of infrastructure and improvement of existing development 4. Replace on-going “model city” plans with Development Guides in all LGA and LDAs to serve as briefs for Regional Plan review. LAGOS HABITAT 2011 ACTION PLAN – TOP 10 5. Set –up Planning Approval Appeals Committee at LGA level and an Appeals Tribunal for the State 6. Undertake non-destructive tests on all buildings above one storey and demolish unsafe structures 7. Establish Community Development Consortia 8. Register all building material makers / merchants and relocate them to designated parks for ease of monitoring 9. Conduct State-wide Housing Need survey 10. Sensitize the public and encourage attitudinal change through multi- media enlightenment campaign.
