Jess’s Indian parents want her to grow up according to their
culture.
She wants to play soccer but its against what her parents
want her to do.
Marrying a man from a different culture (interracial) is
strictly prohibited.
Mrs Bhamra: Strict, Impulsive.
Jules: Argumentative, fight for what she wants.
So far this movie is about a girl called Jesminder (Jess) who only wants to play
football but her parents don’t want her to. So she fakes a job and secretly trains
and plays football with her new team. Jess’s team get invited to the semis in Ger
many where after the game go clubbing and gets caught almost kissing Jules cr
ush (their coach Joe). Apon arrival (in England) her parents are angry and are w
aiting for her in the car park. After caught in the semi finals by her parents, she n
o longer wishes to play soccer. At her sister’s (Pinkie), she looks really depresse
d and her friend motivates her to make it to the second half. With permission fro
m her dad, she goes and her team wins. A national American scout watches the
game and is very impressed with their football skill, so she gives a football and u
niversity scholarship to Jules and Jess.
