YEAR 7 EXAM REVIEW GUIDE
Semester One 2014-15
Subject: 7 English (Mainstream)
Teacher: Ms. Bryant, Mrs. Perks, Ms. McGraw
Exam Type: 1 ½ hour exam.
Testing reading comprehension and creative writing.
Skill Focus:
The reading section will require reading a short passage and demonstrating
understanding of content. This examination will require students to read actively, and
to then respond to a range of questions aimed at testing their comprehension and
reading skills.
The Creative writing task will assess the students’ progress in writing. We are looking at
the students’ ability to use the PEE structure in their paragraphs. We are also looking to
check that they are responding to the question prompts and using an increasingly
broad range of nouns, verbs, adverbs, and adjectives.
Review Sources: Students should review all notes and resources supplied by the
teacher and on Moodle.
