Upon successful completion of the registration form and payment of your registration using a major credit
card*, you will receive a receipt by email. Please print this receipt and bring it with you to the shiai as
additional proof of payment/registration.

THIS IS A PRE-REGISTRATION ONLY TOURNAMENT.
ATHLETES, REFEREES, VOLUNTEERS AND COACHES PLEASE NOTE:
Coaches: Only one coach per athlete will be permitted at mat side.
Maximum of four coaches per Dojo with proof of NCCP II certification.
Athletes must enter their coach’s name at the time of registration.
Provincial coaching teams (and foreign equivalents) must be identified and accredited prior to the
tournament.
A coaches meeting will take place at Joseki at 0930hr at the Shiai-jo. One coach per Dojo/Team permitted
at this meeting.
The referees’ meeting will take place in the officials’ room at the Shiai-jo.

 Tournament rules briefing and Q & A: 0915 to 0945
Volunteers and table officials must be in place at 0930hr.
RULES & SYSTEMS:
















Modified IJF Rules and Judo Ontario/Judo Canada Tournament Regulations will be applied.
U14: NO chokes, No armlocks allowed.
U16: NO armlocks allowed.
U18 and U21: chokes and armlocks allowed.
A minimum rest period equal to two (2) times the match time will be allowed between matches.
Golden Score will be applied in all divisions
White and Blue judogis are mandatory for all qualifying divisions.
A white and a blue sash of an appropriate size is allowed for non-qualifying divisions.
Two blue judogis will not be allowed on the competition surface in the non-qualifying divisions.
Uniforms (Judogis) MUST comply with 2013-14 IJF size regulations.
Sokuteiki will be available to verify compliance.
The competition area will conform to the IJF standard 8m x 8m combat surface.
True double elimination will be used.
Round robin and pool system for 7 competitors and fewer.
Seeding will be based on HPC communication with Judo Canada requirements.
Draws will be posted at the tournament site once completed.

1st, 2nd, and two 3rd Place medals will be awarded as per Judo Canada guidelines.
Medals will be presented upon the completion of each weight category.

Athletes may compete in two divisions per day or as outlined in accordance with Judo Canada.
Athletes may compete in U16 or U21 and U18 if they are the proper age and/ or meet Judo Canada's
Early Bloomer Clause

examinations per competitor per match (does not include treatments for bleeding) without penalty. A third
examination to the same competitor in the same match will result in their opponent being awarded the win
by “Kiken-gachi”. All incidents of bleeding in these two age categories will be dealt with in accordance with
current IJF Competition Rules, Article 29 (Bleeding Injuries).
