Creation Gospel is a provocative title!
We associate “Creation” with the Scriptures
from Genesis through Malachi
and
“Gospel” with the story of Yeshua/Jesus as
recorded in Matthew through Revelation.
How can the two go together?
Yeshua was the first of any creation
that occurred.
In the beginning was the
Word, and the Word was
with God and the Word
was God.
He was in the beginning
with God.
All things came into being
through Him, and apart
from Him nothing came
into being that has come
into being.
John 1:1-3
And unto the angel of the church of the
Laodiceans write; These things saith
the Amen, the faithful and true
witness, the beginning of the creation of
God;
Revelation 3:14 KJV
Yeshua: the Beginning OF
Creation?
Since Yeshua is YHWH/God, He couldn’t be the first created
thing!
In fact, the “sense” of this use of the term ‘beginning,” or
“first” as it is sometimes translated, is as a primary
source; as in the head of a river is its first source.
Creation issues forth through Yeshua Who
is the Head, the Beginning of Creation.
Yeshua’s Creative Work is our model
for walking through life.
“To understand the Creation week is to
understand that
the entire plan of salvation and redemption in the
person of Messiah Yeshua
was set on that week like a seven lane road, or
in Hebrew, derek.”
Derek means “a way” or “a path.”’

And this is love, that
we walk after his commandments.
This is the commandment, That, as
ye have heard from the beginning, ye
should walk in it.
2 John 1: 6 KJV
The Creation Gospel Study is
All about
“Walking after”
our Messiah
in His commandments.
Do we really know what that
means?
Let’s find out!
How is the term “walk” used in
Scripture?
Why is it “walk after”?
What is meant by “His
commandments”?
The beginning of what?
The Ancient Hebrew Lexicon of the
Bible defines it like this:
Walk (‫ הלך‬halak )
This word is used over 1300
times in the Bible and can be
used in the sense of going,
coming, carrying, bringing,
leaving, following and even
"walking."
The original pictographs used
to write this word is a picture
of the palm of the hand and a
staff.
What is one going to do when
they put a staff in the palm of
the hand? Take a walk.
Halacha: The Way we Walk
Strong’s #1980
AHLB #1264
Halachah is a well established Hebraic
concept.
Vine’s Complete Expository Dictionary
gives us a clear picture as in the
following four slides:
It is said to originate with God who is
said to “walk” in 3 senses:
1) Physical form
Adam and Eve heard the sound of God walking in
the Garden.
(Genesis 3:8)
2) Anthropomorphism
God is spoken of as though He has bodily parts.
He “walks” on the clouds (Psalm 104:3) or in the
heavens (Job 22:14)
3) To accompany, redeem, or save His People
God is spoken of as One Who “walks before” His people.
(2 Samuel 7:23, Psalm 80:2)
Vine’s entry continues:
The idea of God’s
“going” (“walking”)
before His people in
the pillars of fire and
cloud leads to the
idea that His people
must “walk behind”
Him.
Deuteronomy 13:5 KJV
Quite often the
people are said to
have “walked” or to
be warned against
“walking behind”
foreign gods.
One example:
Deuteronomy 4:3 KJV
The rather concrete idea of following
God through the wilderness moves to
“walking behind” Him spiritually.
(Vine’s observations end here.)
He leadeth me in the paths of
righteousness for His
Name’s sake.
Psalm 23:3 KJV
Are you saying that faith isn’t
enough for salvation?
May it never be! No!
However--Once faith has come, we want to choose to
walk as our Messiah walks; a question of
obedience!
For we are His workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus for good
works, which God prepared
beforehand that
we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10 KJV
The LORD will establish you as a
holy people to Himself, just as
He has sworn to you,
if you keep the commandments of
the LORD your God
and walk in His ways.
Deuteronomy 28:9 KJV
And they [Elizabeth and Zacharias] were
both righteous before God,
walking in all the commandments
and
ordinances of the Lord blameless.
Luke 1:6 KJV
Righteousness and keeping
commandments are connected.
And it shall be our righteousness,
if we observe to do all these
commandments before the LORD our God,
as he hath commanded us.
Deuteronomy 6:25
There are MANY similar references.
The righteous is walking habitually in
his integrity, O the happiness of his
sons after him!
Proverbs 20:7
When we walk,
we are either on a path or off a path.
Path ‫ דרך‬Derekh,
Strong's #1870
A path is a well marked road
or trail that may be followed to
lead one to a specific location.
Throughout the Hebrew Bible
the word “path” is used for
man's journey through life.
The path that is followed may
be one that has been carved
out by other men or by God.
Righteous ‫ צדיק‬tsadiyq
Strong's #6662
1 of 2
The Hebrew language is a
very concrete language
meaning that each word is
a description of action of a
person or object unlike
our modern languages
which are abstract.
The word “righteous” is an
example of an abstract. It has
no connection to something
physical.
Righteous ‫ צדיק‬tsadiyq
Strong's #6662
2 of 2
The Hebrew word
tsadiyq does not
mean 'righteous' in
an abstract way
but in the action of
staying “on course”
or following the
path.
Wicked ‫רשע‬
rasha
Strong's #7563
1 of 3
In the English language
a “wicked” person is one who
performs evil.
However, in the Hebrew
language the noun rasha has
a very different meaning.
By investigating the verbal root of this
word we can gain a clearer picture of
its meaning.
The root of this word is the verb
rasha [str:7561].
Wicked ‫רשע‬
rasha
Strong's #7563
2 of 3
Its original concrete meaning can be found
in Psalm 18:21
For I have guarded the paths of
Yahweh,
and have not departed from my Elohiym.
(Most translations have "wickedly
departed"
but the word "wickedly" is added
to the text and not part of the Hebrew).
Wicked ‫רשע‬
3 of 3
rasha
Strong's #7563
The verb rasha means
"to depart from the path,"
either by walking off the path
on purpose or by becoming
lost from the path.
The noun rasha is "one who
has walked off the path."
Ru’ach
1 of 3
The Holy Spirit
is also related to a
path.
The Hebrew word ru'ach literally
means “the wind” and is derived
from the parent root rach “a
prescribed path.”
The word rach is not found in the
Biblical text but defined by the
various child roots derived from
it.
The child roots derived from this
parent root are arach, rachah
and yarach.
Ruach
2 of 3
The Holy Spirit
is also related to a path.
Arach is a traveler who follows
a prescribed path from one
place to another.
Rachah is a millstone which
goes round and round in the
sense of following a prescribed
path to crush grain into flour.
AHLB# 1445-j (N)
Yarach is the root of yere'ach
meaning the moon which
follows a prescribed path in
the night sky.
Ruach
The Holy Spirit
is also related to a path.
3 of 3
The child root ru'ach is literally
the wind that follows a
prescribed path each season.
By extension ru'ach means
the wind of a man or what is
usually translated as spirit.
A man's wind is not just a
spiritual entity within a man but
is understood by the Ancient
Hebrews as his character.
AHLB# 1445-j (N)
How strange this sounds to our ears!
Our life is all about walking a path.
The righteous person is walking on the
path of our Elohim.
Walking after Messiah through the Light
of the Ruach/Spirit!
The wicked person is lost or walking off
the path on purpose.
No shades of grey?
English has various forms of verbs:
good, better, best
bad, worse, worst
Hebrew does not have this structure.
A person is going either one direction or the
other:
Righteous—on the path
Wicked—off the path deliberately or lost
Either on or off the path?
Only two choices?
Maybe it was like that for the Israelites, in the
beginning, “Old Testament” times..
but it couldn’t be for me, a “New Testament
Believer” today!
Things changed when Yeshua came on the
scene, didn’t they?
And this is love, that we walk after his
commandments. This is the commandment, That,
as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should
walk in it.
2 John 1: 6 KJV
This refers to the beginning of Yeshua’s
ministry, the Gospel message, doesn’t it?
How would Creation week have anything to
do with His direction to us AFTER His
resurrection?
Most references do identify “Gospel”
with only New Testament concepts.
The English word “gospel” is Strong’s # 2098.
The Greek word originally referred to “a reward for
good tidings.” Later the reward concept was lost and it
related to “good tidings or news.” It also is used in
connection with “evangelize;” Particularly about the
good news of Messiah’s life, death and resurrection for
our salvation.
He gave Himself as an offering or sacrifice on our behalf.
There is a very relevant Hebrew word, too.
Flesh ‫בסר‬
basar
Strong's #1320
The word basar literally means
"meat" such as in Exodus
12:8 but can also mean the
whole of a person or animal
such as in Genesis 6:13.
A closely related word, besorah
[str:1309], the feminine form
of basar, means "good news"
or "gospel."
In the Ancient Hebrew culture a
fatted animal is slaughtered
for a feast at times of "good
news" hence, the connection
between basar and besorah.
Yeshua is the Lamb Who was
“slain before the foundation of the world”
1 Peter 1:20 Rev. 13:8
as a sin offering for us during the Feast
of Passover.
He is our “Besorah ”
Our Sin offering and our Good News!
If the “Good News” only applies AFTER
Messiah’s resurrection
then we should see a difference between
the descriptions of “walking” between Old
Testament and the New Testament
Scripture.
Let’s find out!
Sword Drill!
For those who aren’t familiar with the term, it
means we are going to test our knowledge
of Scripture to find out how well we know it!
Do you know the location of these verses?
Are they “Old” or “New” Testament?

come from?
Please take a moment to consider the context of
each verse.

perform them,
…I will walk among
you and be your God,
and you shall be My

And what agreement

Leviticus 26:3,12
And what agreement
has the temple of God
with idols? For you
are the temple of the
living God. As God
has said: “ I will dwell
in them And walk
among them. I will be
their God, And they
shall be My people.”
2 Corinthians 6:16
But if one walks in the
night, he stumbles,
because the light is
not in him.”
The people who
walked in darkness
Have seen a great
light; Those who
dwelt in the land of
the shadow of death,
Upon them a light has
shined.
But if one walks in the
night, he stumbles,
because the light is
not in him.”
John 11:10
The people who
walked in darkness
Have seen a great
light; Those who
dwelt in the land of
the shadow of death,
Upon them a light has
shined.
Isaiah 9:2
And he did what was
right in the sight of
the LORD, and
walked in all the
ways of his father
David; he did not turn
aside to the right
hand or to the left.
Your ears shall hear a
word behind you,
saying, “ This is the
way, walk in it,”
Whenever you turn to
the right hand Or
whenever you turn to
the left.
And he did what was right
in the sight of the LORD,
and walked in all the
ways of his father David;
he did not turn aside to
the right hand or to the
left.
2 Kings 22:2
Your ears shall hear a word
behind you, saying, “ This
is the way, walk in it,”
Whenever you turn to the
right hand Or whenever
you turn to the left.
Isaiah 30:21
Ah-ha! The writings
and the prophets agree,
too!
For you were once
darkness, but now
you are light in the
Lord. Walk as
children of light
Blessed are the people
who know the joyful
sound! They walk, O
LORD, in the light of
Your countenance.
For you were once
darkness, but now
you are light in the
Lord. Walk as
children of light
Blessed are the people
who know the joyful
sound! They walk, O
LORD, in the light of
Your countenance.
Ephesians 5:8
Psalm 89:15
For Your
lovingkindness is
before my eyes, And I
have walked in Your
truth.

just as you walk in
the truth.
For Your
lovingkindness is
before my eyes, And I
have walked in Your
truth.
Psalm 26:3

when brethren came
and testified of the
truth that is in you,

3 John 1:3
I say then: Walk in the
Spirit, and you shall
not fulfill the lust of
the flesh.
Blessed are the
undefiled in the way,
Who walk in the law
of the LORD!
I say then: Walk in the
Spirit, and you shall
not fulfill the lust of
the flesh.
Blessed are the
undefiled in the way,
Who walk in the law
of the LORD!
Galatians 5:16
Psalm 119: 1
The law of truth was in his
mouth, And injustice was
not found on his lips. He
walked with Me in
peace and equity, And
turned many away from
iniquity.
Take them and be
purified with them, and
pay their expenses so
that they may shave their
heads, and that all may
know that those things of
which they were informed
concerning you are
nothing, but that you
yourself also walk
orderly and keep the law.
The law of truth was in his
mouth, And injustice was
not found on his lips. He
walked with Me in
peace and equity, And
turned many away from
iniquity.
Take them and be
purified with them, and
pay their expenses so
that they may shave their
heads, and that all may
know that those things of
which they were informed
concerning you are
nothing, but that you
yourself also walk
orderly and keep the law.
Malachi 2:6
Acts 21:24
Then the churches
throughout all Judea,
Galilee, and Samaria
had peace and were
edified. And walking
in the fear of the Lord
and in the comfort of
the Holy Spirit, they
were multiplied.
This is the genealogy of
Noah. Noah was a
just man, perfect in
his generations. Noah
walked with God.
Then the churches
throughout all Judea,
Galilee, and Samaria
had peace and were
edified. And walking
in the fear of the Lord
and in the comfort of
the Holy Spirit, they
were multiplied.
Acts 9:31
This is the genealogy of
Noah. Noah was a
just man, perfect in
his generations. Noah
walked with God.
Genesis 6:9
Pretty safe to say that Noah was
multiplied, too!
And you shall teach them
the statutes and the
laws, and show them the
way in which they must
walk and the work they
must do.
“Thus says the LORD of
hosts: ‘ If you will walk
in My ways, And if you
will keep My command,
Then you shall also judge
My house, And likewise
have charge of My courts;
I will give you places to
walk Among these who
stand here.
And you shall teach them
the statutes and the
laws, and show them the
way in which they must
walk and the work they
must do.
Exodus 18:20
Ah-ha! The Torah and the Prophets
agree, too.
“Thus says the LORD of
hosts: ‘ If you will walk in
My ways, And if you will
keep My command, Then
you shall also judge My
house, And likewise have
charge of My courts; I will
give you places to walk
Among these who stand
here.
Zechariah 3:7
And our last one for now…
When His lamp shone
upon my head, And
when by His light I
walked through
darkness;
And the nations of
those who are saved
shall walk in its light,
and the kings of the
earth bring their glory
and honor into it.
When His lamp shone
upon my head, And
when by His light I
walked through
darkness;
Job 29:3
And the nations of
those who are saved
shall walk in its light,
and the kings of the
earth bring their glory
and honor into it.
Revelation 21:24
Okay, put down your Sword!
How did you do?
• Did you always know which “walk” verse was an
“Old Testament” one and which was from the
“New Testament?”
• Did you see agreement within the “Old
Testament” of the Torah, Writings and Prophets?
• Did you see being “in the Spirit” or “Light” and
“walking a path” come together?
Did you already know what
you saw here?
Our God doesn’t change! His message is the same from
Genesis to Revelation!
We must walk after Him and stay on His path and in His
Light.
Walking after Him involves the same things, no matter in
what century we live.
Messiah Yeshua and YHWH our Elohim are One!
Yeshua’s Way was established from the beginning—
Creation Week!
Further Study
As we know, a few verses can always be taken
out of context for “proof texting” and making a
point.
Check the Englishman’s Concordances for
Hebrew and Greek or an online Bible for all the
occurrences of “walk” or “walk after.” There are
many, many more and sometimes different ones
in various translations!
Finally then, brethren, we urge and
exhort in the Lord Jesus that you
should abound more and more,
just as you received from us how
you ought to walk and to please
God;
1 Thessalonians 4:1 KJV
And this is love, that we walk after his
commandments. This is the commandment,
That, as ye have heard from the beginning,
ye should walk in it.
2 John 1: 6 KJV
