Course Description: This course is an introduction to the fundamental concepts of
management. The course is organized around the four functions of management: planning,
organizing, leading, and controlling.
Course Objectives:
- Stimulate interest, appreciation and curiosity about management knowledge
- Develop base of concepts and skills to facilitate further learning and thinking about
management
- Increase understanding of what management is and what effective managers do
- Enhance recognition of ethical dilemmas and increase aptitude with various
approaches to ethical decision making
- Raise insight to the challenges of the global business environment
- Practice some basic tools and techniques of effective managers
- Finally, develop in students the capability to apply the acquired knowledge of
management to their future positions.
Course Communication: Course communication will be conducted primarily through
Moodle, although students are welcome to also email or call the instructor at the numbers
given above.

academic dishonesty and/or otherwise violate the rules of conduct are subject to disciplinary

Assessment: Assessment in this on-line course will be conducted totally through Aplia.
Homework assignments and tests will be given through this site and you can complete them
all at your own pace and submit them through the Cengage Brain/Aplia website.
