A visitor to Taiwan
• Hey John, guess what, my penpal’s
coming to Taiwan for a week
• That’s great! Are you going to take her on
a trip?
• Yes, I was thinking of taking her to the hot
springs at Chihpen.
• That’s a good idea. Or why not take her on
the little train to Alishan.
• Well, maybe we’ll have time to do both!

喂?
Hello, is that Vicky Chen?
Yes it is. Who’s calling?
It’s Tadao Nakimura from Sony in Tokyo.
Nakimura-san! It’s great to hear from you again! What can I do for you?
Well, I’ll be visiting Taiwan this year, and was hoping for some advice.
What time of year will you be coming?
I'll be coming in early February, and staying for 3 or 4 days.
Well, you will need some warm clothes. And avoid Chinese New Year: it’s a
family time, and everywhere is either very crowded or closed.
I see, thanks.
And what plans do you have while in Taiwan?
I want to go shopping for Taiwanese products, and I love spicy food.
Well, you can find many local products at the Rao He nightmarket. And for
spicy food I would recommend a Sichuan restaurant, Kiki on Guangfu S Rd
