Selection criteria KCS develops selection criteria for all positions that are advertised. The interview If you are granted an interview, you will have the opportunity to explain or clarify information provided in your application. Project Description The aim of Kogarah Neighbour Aid is to provide services to frail older people, people with disabilities and their carers who live in the Kogarah Local Government Area (LGA). Services that may be provided include; social outings, group activities, home visits, assistance with shopping, bill paying, attending appointments and friendly phone calls. 3. Key Responsibilities 4.1 Outings Attend, manage and accept responsibility for bus outings and other social events in a supervisory role as directed by the Coordinator. Assist in the arrangement of events. Prepare all resources in advance for outings prior to the scheduled event. Record client and volunteer attendance accurately. Manage client payments and program expenses accurately and responsibly, ensuring that outings run within set budget. Communicate with, assist and organise clients, staff and volunteers in a professional manner, ensuring confidentiality, dignity and respect are maintained. Report any client or volunteer concerns to the Coordinator as soon as practicable. 4.2 Companion Visiting Support clients in their own homes by visiting them at times and on a frequency determined by the Coordinator. Consult with Coordinator prior to any changes to client hours or visiting times. Assist clients to undertake activities of daily living as set out in the client’s care plan. Work within the parameters of service delivery established by the Coordinator for each individual client. Identify the changing needs of clients and report concerns to the Coordinator. Work through the Coordinator to liaise with other service providers and carers of the client. Complete on a daily basis a report on each client. The report must communicate client needs in terms of health, safety, security, potential risks etc. Record visits and obtain the signature of clients. Reports to be submitted to Coordinator on a fortnightly basis with staff timesheets. Accurately record mileage and submit on a timely basis. Manage client payments accurately and responsibly. 4.3 Administration Support Provide administration support to KNA Coordinator as required. Answer KNA phone calls when required. General administration duties as directed by Coordinator. 4.4 WHS 5 Ensure outings operate within WHS legislation and KCS Policy & Procedure. Record any risks that are identified on the Hazard Log and report to Coordinator. Ensure venues are safe, accessible and have appropriate facilities for staff, clients and volunteers. When necessary, complete comprehensive incident and injury reporting according to KCS Policy & Procedure as soon as practicable after an outing/event. Ensure the WHS folder contains appropriate information. Maintain current first aid qualifications and provide relevant first aid assistance when necessary. Monitor and identify urgent medical needs of clients and volunteers attending outings. Contribute to WHS in the workplace. Develop, monitor, evaluate and review risk management strategies to minimise harm to clients. Promote WHS by example and report any concerns to the Coordinator.
