Nice to Meet You! A ThingLink Project
As we have discussed, the use of technology will be an integral part of this class. ThingLink, which is an
interactive image, is one example of technology that we will use to complete projects. For this assignment, you
will create a ThingLink about YOU! There are some required pieces of information that you will tag in your
project, so be sure to follow the directions and rubric below to satisfy all aspects of this project.
Directions:
1. Create a ThingLink account:
 Go to www.thinglink.com and select “start now”
 Sign up for the “Basic Free” account
 Sign up by entering your class issued Gmail email account. Do not sign in using
Facebook.
2.
Create an image to use in ThingLink:
Open PowerPoint and create a slide that is 1024 x 728 pixels (this is the automatic
setting). This will be your ThingLink picture. Arrange your PowerPoint slide with an
appropriate picture of yourself, a title with your first and last name, the subject of the
class, and your class period. When complete save your PPT slide as a Jpeg image. You
may use any images you feel are appropriate, but make sure not to clutter your ThingLink
image.
3.
Create a ThingLink:
 First, import your picture(s), either a picture you found or one that you made in
PowerPoint or an app, such as Pic Collage* or Pic Stitch*.
 Next, create Tags for each category of required information. Tags are links to your
research, images, songs, and videos. You must use the appropriate icon for each tag.
Use this tag for facts that people don’t know about you
Use this tag for an econ review website
Use this tag to link articles/ graphs/political cartoons/images.
Use this tag for general information about you
Link a video, commercial, or audio clip that is relevant to your project.
Use this link for anything extra you would like to add.
4.
Save your ThingLink and name file:
Last Name, First Initial, Nice to Meet You (Meder, W. Nice to Meet You).
5.
Your ThingLink will be graded on content AND appearance. Design and layout your
ThingLink with visual appeal using colorful pictures, good balance and use of white space.

Complete rubric: Check that you have met the project requirements.
7. Copy your thinglink URL address: found on the share page and paste into:
