Activity:
Facilitate learning and development in business processes and supporting applications
Develop, support and maintain Peer Support networks utilising IT in the delivery of business
processes
Fully understand the IT training requirements to support University business
Collaborate with colleagues in the design and production of effective learning resources
Use this intelligence to help monitor and shape the service portfolio provided by IT Training &
Development
Examples of role specific activity include:







Develop relationships with key stakeholders to understand the University requirement for IT
learning and development as well as the landscape into which the learning needs to be delivered,
making appropriate plans to ensure that all needs are met
Working with other support functions (including People Services, GCU Lead, Learning
Technologists, Library), identify and explore means through which IT Training can add value
and/or consolidate existing training, defining most appropriate methods for delivery to ensure a
successful, consistent and continually improving delivery of IT learning and knowledge sharing
within the University Community
In collaboration with IT Training & Development Team Lead establish, promote and monitor key
performance indicators relating to the successful delivery of IT learning and knowledge sharing
Exploit existing and further develop the Peer Support networks to ensure all staff are able to
effectively utilise IT in support of the student experience and the delivery of business processes.
Understand the business environment and deliver learning and development in a manner which
not only meets agreed levels of service, but is also cost effective, delivering best value.
Keep professional knowledge current, including being aware of changes and developments in the
Learning and Development sector
Work collaboratively with team associates to share business knowledge and good practice

 Provide professional advice within area of expertise.

 Maintain and develop accurate records, databases and management information systems.

Research and disseminate specialist information required by service users.
Lead, participate in and provide specialist advice to working groups and committees at
appropriate levels.
