Role Profile – Grade 6 PAS Senior IT Adviser Job Title: IT Learning Facilitator Generic Job Title: IT Learning Facilitator Reporting to: IT Training & Development Team Lead Department: Information Services Job Family: Professional and Administrative Support Grade: 6 Main Purpose of the Role: To work within Schools and Professional Services and to: Summary of Activity: Facilitate learning and development in business processes and supporting applications Develop, support and maintain Peer Support networks utilising IT in the delivery of business processes Fully understand the IT training requirements to support University business Collaborate with colleagues in the design and production of effective learning resources Use this intelligence to help monitor and shape the service portfolio provided by IT Training & Development Examples of role specific activity include: Develop relationships with key stakeholders to understand the University requirement for IT learning and development as well as the landscape into which the learning needs to be delivered, making appropriate plans to ensure that all needs are met Working with other support functions (including People Services, GCU Lead, Learning Technologists, Library), identify and explore means through which IT Training can add value and/or consolidate existing training, defining most appropriate methods for delivery to ensure a successful, consistent and continually improving delivery of IT learning and knowledge sharing within the University Community In collaboration with IT Training & Development Team Lead establish, promote and monitor key performance indicators relating to the successful delivery of IT learning and knowledge sharing Exploit existing and further develop the Peer Support networks to ensure all staff are able to effectively utilise IT in support of the student experience and the delivery of business processes. Understand the business environment and deliver learning and development in a manner which not only meets agreed levels of service, but is also cost effective, delivering best value. Keep professional knowledge current, including being aware of changes and developments in the Learning and Development sector Work collaboratively with team associates to share business knowledge and good practice Examples of generic activity include: Provide professional advice within area of expertise. Manage own and team day to day work profile in keeping with service demands. Plan service provision within areas of expertise. Assist in and advise on the administration of appropriate budgets. Ensure appropriate resources are available for departmental/school operation. Ensure systems are developed and implemented to monitor service quality. Provide educational, welfare and pastoral support mechanisms to meet the needs of staff and students. Balance competing work priorities. Manage competing work priorities of the team. Responsible for co-operating and complying with University and Local Health and Safety regulations, standards and processes.
