Spelling Test Words
Over the next five weeks, create a design or
model for an invention which would help you
with an everyday task at home. For example:
 Brushing your teeth or hair
 Putting your socks on
 Feeding a pet
Or you may idea of your own.
This week, my six spelling words to learn by
heart are:

You can choose to use whatever resources
and media you like.
The only rule is: it must be informative to

Spelling Investigation Task
This week’s spelling task is suffixes.
The suffix ‘ed’ turns verbs to the past tense.
Find 5 root words, where the vowel is short so
you double the final consonant then add
ed to turn the verb past tense e.g. hop –
hopped.
Write the past tense verbs in alphabetical
order.
www.dictionary.com might be a good place to
check for unexpected examples!
