Planners should be filled in every day by the students!
Please sign the planners every night!

Planners cost $5.00.
WEEKLY REPORTS
& NEWSLETTER
 Look for weekly reports in the student’s Friday Folder.
 There will be a sticker for each week if there were no problems.
 If there was a problem, a number that reflects the rule broken
will be written in by the teacher and a Pink Slip, Behavior Slip
or Think Sheet filled out by the student will be attached to the
weekly report. Please leave these slips attached.
 Please sign the report for each week and return Monday in the
Friday Folder.
 This is a great communication tool!
 Look for a weekly newsletter in the Friday Folder also! The
newsletter will contain the next week’s spelling words and
upcoming important dates. Soon to be paperless and on class
webpages.

 Reading- Reader’s Workshop,
metacognitive strategies, fluency practice,
book clubs, variety of genres.
 Word Work- Weekly lists.
Reading Logs will be used in lieu of book reports.
At least 20 minutes, at least 4 times per week, parent signature
required for each session.
**Reading Logs are due every two weeks!
A list of dates is included in the packet.
These count for points as well as toward the
Reading Circle Certificate.
Writing In Homerooms
 Grammar- parts of speech, usage, sentence structure.
 Quarterly Writing Projects- Writer’s Workshop, the
writing process, effective writing traits.
 Journaling and Quick Writes.
MATH
 Daily Homework

Recess Temperature Guidelines
EXTREME HEAT – We will
not be going outside if the
temperature is above 95 degrees.

Please send students with appropriate
attire.

checked into the nurse,
including cough drops.
Parent Pick-up

watch for staff members’
