Mr. Ajay Mishra, 4 9425252759 1.2 HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY District Nomenclature BALODA BAZAR- BHATAPARAdistrictwas announced by Chief Minister on 15 August 2011 and it came into existence from 1st Jan 2012. It was formed by separating from Raipur district. BALODA BAZAR hasderiveditsname from baloda means ‘cattle’ and bazar means ‘market’ .This town was very famous for its cattle market in the region. The market still exists with name "Bhaisa Pasra". Newly-formed district of state- Baloda Bazar-Bhatapara is the land of great personalities like Guru Baba Ghasidas and Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh. Even the religious centre of Kabeerpanth is situated in Damakheda area of this district. Development of this place goes on unabated with the blessings of such great people. The Satguru Kabir Panth ( कबीर-पंथ) "Panth of Kabir" is a Philosophy and religious community of India encompassing a wide spectrum of beliefs, traditions and practices based on the teachings of Kabir . KabirPanthis or "followers of the path of Kabir" are numerous throughout all parts of India and are also found in Indian communities abroad. There are four major centre of Kabirpanthis , Chhatisgarh seat at Kudurmal, founded by Muktamani Sahib (Vikram Samvat 1570-1630). They belong to the line of Dharmadas Sahib, other three are Kabir Chaura based in Varanasi (d. 1551 AD) , Biddupur seat founded by Jagu Sahib and Dhanuati (Chhapra, Bihar) founded by Bhagvan Sahib. Dharamdas ji (from Bandhavgarh, Madhya Pradesh) was a dear disciple of Kabir Sahib. Supreme God Kabir Ji had said to Saint Dharmdas ji that to maintain religiousness, only give first mantra to your son Churamani, by which he will remain religious and your lineage will continue. Then Kabir Sahib said that a messenger of Kaal will come in your seventh generation. He will even finish this actual first mantra and will propagate another arbitrary mantra. The eleventh, thirteenth and the seventeenth Mahants will finish the rest of the religiousness. In this way, bhakti will finish from your lineage, but your lineage will still continue until the forty-second (42) generation. Then your lineage will also get destroyed. 5 Damakheda is small village situated 10 km away from Simga which is on the Raipur -Bilaspur highway. Satguru Ghasidas was born 18 December 1756 in village Girodhpuri in baloda bazar district in a Dalit family (Lineage of Lord Vishnnu & always protected by Lord Vishnnu & Lord Krishnna Holding Sudarshan Chakra). Satguru Ghasidas saw the socio-political milieu of misrule, loot and plunder in the society. The local kings and administrator failed to stop this. Satguru Ghasidas underwent the exploitative experiences specific to human communities, which helped him the hierarchical and exploitative nature of social dynamics in a caste-ridden society. From an early age, he started rejecting social inequity and to understand the problems faced by human community and to find solutions, he traveled extensively in Chhattisgarh. Guru Ghasidas through Satnamin principles initiated a socio-religious order, which rejected the premier position of Brahmins and completely demolished the exploitative and hierarchical caste system. This new order was a challenge to the brahminical social order and it treated all human beings as socially equal. According to Satnam Panth, truth is God and there is only one God, which is Nirgun (formless) and Anant (infinite). Ghasidas realised the link between dominance of Brahmins and idol worship and therefore Satnam rejects any form of idol worship. Interestingly, Ghasidas had a holistic vision and felt that systemic reforms to remove social injustice and inequality would remain inadequate and incomplete without reforming the individuals. This underlying principle led to prohibition of liquor and nonvegetarian food for the followers of Satnam Panth. Giraudhpuri is a religious place for the Satnamis they are the followers of Satnam Panth . It is situated 10 KM away from sheory narayan and 40 km away from baloda bazaar. Pioneeringeffortstoattainfreedom from BritishdominationweremadebyVeernarayan Singh. Narayan Singh Binjhwar, the scion of the Zamindar family of Sonakhan in Chhattisgarh, was born in 1795. During a severe famine, in 1856, he helped the people to save them from starvation. He was falsely implicated and arrested in October, 1856.As per history, when the flames of 1857 war reached Chhattisgarh, the masses elected the imprisoned Narayan Singh as their leader and liberated him from the jail. After organizing the local people, Narayan Singh had an encounter with 6 the British army near Sonakhan. Moved by the atrocities of the British and the resultant devastation and destruction, Narayan Singh surrendered to the British to protect the lives of his people. His public execution on December 10, 1857 provoked the public and the army contingent at Raipur, which raised in yet another revolt.
