GROOVE!
Groovin’
By The Young Rascals
Groovin' on a Sunday afternoon, really
couldn't get away too soon,
I can't imagine anything that's better,
the world is ours whenever we're
together.
There ain't a place I'd like to be instead
of groovin' down a crowded avenue,
Doin' anything we'd like to do. There's
always lots of things that we could see,
We could be anyone we'd like to be,
and all those happy people we could
meet just
Groovin' on a Sunday afternoon, really
couldn't get away too soon, no, no, no,
no.
We'll keep on spending sunny days this
way, we're gonna talk and laugh our
time away.
I feel it comin' closer day by day. Life
would be ecstasy, you and me
endlessly,
Groovin' on a Sunday afternoon, really
couldn't get away too soon, no, no, no,
no.
Groovin' ah ha ah ha; groovin' ah ha ah
ha.

Hippies
Hippies are people that believe in peace
when there are differences. They wanted to
solve differences with love. They go with the
flow. Hippies this year don’t like when people
judge them by there appearances. You can tell
when a person is a hippie by there extremely
long hair, different clothes, and there odd
smell. Most hippies love drugs. They like weed
and pot. They protest all the time about the
war we are in with Vietnam, saving the trees,
helping the environment and world peace.
Everyone says “ once a hippie , always a
hippie.”

Lyndon B. Johnson
• Lyndon is the 36th president of the United
States. He was born in central Texas in 1908.
He had three sisters. He graduated college in
1930. He was a congressman for many years
then he ran for senate. Then he decided to
run for vice president and John F. Kennedy ran
for president. He became president after
Kennedys assassination. His plan for being
president was to aid education, fix Medicare,
obstacles of the right to vote and much more.
We are in war with Vietnam at the time. The
economy was good all throughout the 60’s
including this year, 1967. Many people don’t
like the president because he got us involved
in war with Vietnam. This year we are going
through racisms and civil liberties issues.

Teen life
Being a teenager this year, 1967 is
great. We all hang out at the skating
rink, bowling alley, or got to a drive in.
Our parents don’t care if we stay out
after dark. Almost everyone has a lava
lamp in there room. Smoking
cigarettes or doing tobacco isn't bad
for you so, a lot of people do it. Girls
wear mini skirts but the paper dresses
are getting more popular. Guys wear
bright colors. Every where you turn
there is a hippy protesting about
something. Racial issues are a big deal.
Rock music is super popular. We all
love to hang out and just have a good
time!
Want to stay I style? If so, buy a
disposable paper dress! Only
one dollar per dress!
