Virgin Birth of Jesus - West Side Church of Christ

While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus
asked them, Saying, What think ye of Christ?
whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of
David.
Matthew 22:42
Some modern religions deny that He is the Son of God
Many modern religious leaders deny His Deity
Many ask, “Does it really matter whose Son He is?”
Indeed it matters a great deal
If the virgin birth of Christ is not true:
The Bible is not true
His doctrine is not true
We have no hope
The integrity of the Bible is at stake

Genesis 3:15
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign;
Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and
shall call his name Immanuel.
Isaiah 7:14
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise:
When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph,
before they came together, she was found with
child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband,
being a just man, and not willing to make her a
publick example, was minded to put her away
privily. But while he thought on these things,
behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him
in a dream, saying,
Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto
thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in
her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a
son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he
shall save his people from their sins. Now all this
was done, that it might be fulfilled which was
spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold,
a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a
son, and they shall call his
name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God
with us. Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and
the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his
name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty
God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the
increase of his government and peace there shall be no
end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom,
to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with
justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the
LORD of hosts will perform this.

And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from
God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin
espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the
house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. And
the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art
highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou
among women. And when she saw him, she was
troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what
manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said
unto her, Fear not, Mary: for
thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou
shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and
shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be
called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall
give unto him the throne of his father David: And he
shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his
kingdom there shall be no end. Then said Mary unto the
angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And
the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost
shall come upon thee, and the
power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore
also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be
called the Son of God.
Luke 1:26-35
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among
us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the
only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and
truth.
John 1:14
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should
not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not
his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that
the world through him might be saved. He that
believeth on him is not condemned: but he that
believeth not is condemned already, because he hath
not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of
God.

And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill
country with haste, into a city of Juda; And entered into
the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth. And it
came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation
of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth
was filled with the Holy Ghost: And she spake out with
a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. And whence is this

For, lo, as

And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose
name was Simeon; and the same man was just and
devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the
Holy Ghost was upon him. And it was revealed unto
him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death,
before he had seen the Lord's Christ. And he came by
the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents
brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the
custom of the law, Then took he him up in his arms, and
blessed God, and said, Lord, now lettest thou thy
servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For
mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast
prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten
the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. And
Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which
were spoken of him. And Simeon blessed them, and
said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for
the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign
which shall be spoken against; (Yea, a sword shall
pierce through thy own soul also,)
that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed. And
there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of
Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and
had lived with an husband seven years from her
virginity; And she was a widow of about fourscore and
four years, which departed not from the temple, but
served God with fastings and prayers night and day.
And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise
unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked
for redemption in Jerusalem.
