The Primary Teachings of
Present Dominionism
1. THE DOMINION MANDATE
Adam lost his dominion over the earth in the
Garden of Eden, and the Great Commission and
task and destiny of the Church is therefore to
recover dominion, over sin, over disease, over
demons, over the whole created order, and even
over death.
Mt. 28:18
And I saw heaven opened, and
behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him
[was] called Faithful and True, and in
righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his
head [were] many crowns; and he had a name
written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13
And he [was] clothed with a vesture dipped in
blood: and his name is called The Word of
God. 14 And the armies [which were] in
heaven followed him upon white horses,
clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 And
out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with
it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule
them with a rod of iron: and he treads the
winepress of the fierceness and wrath of
Almighty God. 16 And he has on [his]
vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING
OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. Rev.
19:11-16
2. EARTHLY INHERITANCE
Going to Heaven is not the goal of Latter
Rain teachers! They sneer at people who have a
heavenly hope. Their realm of dominion is the
earth - the earth is to be restored, renewed,
cleansed and purged, and they will bring heaven
down to earth. Heaven is on this earth!
For, behold, I create new
heavens and a new earth ; and
the former things shall not be
remembered, nor come into
mind. Is. 65:17
But, according to his
promise, we look for new
heavens and a new earth ,
wherein dwells righteousness. II
Pet. 3:13
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth :
for the first heaven and the first earth are
passed away; and the sea is no more. Rev.21:1
3. RAPTURE DENIED:
(Wicked Raptured)
The Church is destined to be triumphant
and victorious and to rule over the earth, so the
Rapture teaching they believe is false - a doom and
gloom, defeatist attitude.
Restorationists believe it is the WICKED who
will be taken out, in judgment - that God will
cleanse the earth by removing all those who rebel
against this great plan of redemption.
The Rapture is the

snatch, or to seize
away) of the church of
Christ
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a
shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of
God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first; 17 then we
that are alive, that are left, shall together with them be
caught up in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so
shall we ever be with the Lord. I Thess. 4:16-17
4. THE CHURCH IS ISRAEL
Following on from the above points, it is
obvious - since the church is to inherit the earth and
reign with Christ - there is no role for Israel as a
nation. Restoration believers generally claim that
the Church is spiritual Israel, who will inherit the
promises.
And he (Jesus) will set up an ensign(rallying signal) for the nations,
and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the
dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. Is. 11:12
And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all
the nations that come against Jerusalem. 10 And I will pour upon
the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit
of grace and of supplication; and they shall look unto me whom they
have pierced; and they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for his
only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in
bitterness for his first-born. Zech. 12:9-10
For I would not, brethren, have you ignorant of this mystery, lest ye
be wise in your own conceits, that a hardening in part hath befallen
Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in; 26 and so all
Israel shall be saved: even as it is written, There shall come out of
Zion the Deliverer; He shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob Rom.
11:25-26
5. APOSTLES AND PROPHETS
RESTORED
The Five-fold Priesthood is supposed to
emerge in the end times to restore the Church to
perfection; Apostles, Prophets and Teachers must
prepare the way, like John the Baptist, for a new
appearance of the Christ. The restoration of the
gifts and ministries to the Church is designed to
bring it to "fullness". These authoritarian leaders
will judge and purge the Church until it is one
undivided Body in the earth.

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and
some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers

Premise
Proper church government has
been lost and in “the latter day
rain” the government will be
restored.
Apostles – Dominionist say: They are for the ordering
and direction of the church. They have the highest
authority. They have the power of ex-communication, and
cursing. To go against them is to go against God. (“Touch
not the Lord’s anointed”…)
Prophets - They are God’s mouthpiece to say what they
have received by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, especially
those things pertaining to future events.
Dominionists say: They speak ex-cathedra on matters of
doctrine and practice. Their utterances are authoritative.
• A new structure of authority is created that will speak
with absoluteness which will include “New Revelation”.
• The teaching of “sola scriptura” must be jettisoned. The
saints must put their trust into the hands of the anointed
interpreters. These anointed ones will be the final arbiters
in matters of faith, doctrine, and practice.
Where there more than Twelve apostles?
Yes
Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city,
brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done
sacrifice with the people. 14 [Which] when the apostles , Barnabas
and Paul, heard [of], they rent their clothes, and ran in among the
people, crying out, 15 And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We
also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye
should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made
heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein: Acts
14: 13-15
Greet Mary, who bestowed much labor on us. 7 Salute
Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellow prisoners, who
are of note among the apostles , who also were in Christ before me.
Rom. 16:6
Rev. 2:1 "To the angel of the church in Ephesus
write: These are the words of him who holds the seven
stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden
lamp stands: 2 I know your deeds, your hard work and
your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked
men, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles
but are not, and have found them false.
There are people who profess to be apostles but are not,
therefore they must be tested by the word of God
I Jn. 4:1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test
the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many
false prophets have gone out into the world.
HOW TO TEST FOR A TRUE APOSTLE
A true apostle had to be a witness of the
resurrection.
Wherefore of these men which have companied with
us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among
us, 22 Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that
same day that he was taken up from us, must one be
ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection….That
he may take part of this ministry and apostleship…Acts
1:21-22 ( Paul an apostle out of season. I Cor. 15:8 )
And with great power gave the apostles witness of
the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was
upon them all. Acts 4:33 (See also I Jn. 1:2,3)
True apostles must have the signs of an apostle
(All patience - Signs - Wonders - Mighty deeds)
And they continued stedfastly in the apostles ' doctrine
and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders
and signs were done by the apostles . Acts 2:42 (See also
Acts 5:12)
….for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles ,
though I be nothing. 12 Truly the signs of an apostle were
wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders,
and mighty deeds. II Cor. 12:11-12
True apostles must preach the true Jesus and gospel.
For if anyone comes preaching another Jesus from the one
whose preachers we are, or if you have got a different spirit, or a
different sort of good news from those which came to you, how well
you put up with these things. 5 For in my opinion, I am in no way
less than the most important of the Apostles . 6 But though I am
rough in my way of talking, I am not so in knowledge, as we have
made clear to all by our acts among you. 7 Or did I do wrong in
making myself low so that you might be lifted up, because I gave you
the good news of God without reward? 8 I took money from other
churches as payment for my work, so that I might be your servant; 9
And when I was present with you, and was in need, I let no man be
responsible for me; for the brothers, when they from Macedonia,
gave me whatever was needed; and in everything I kept myself from
being a trouble to you, and I will go on doing so. 10 As the true
word of Christ is in me, I will let no man take from me this my cause
of pride in the country of Achaia.
False Apostles Love the Title “Apostle” for Notoriety
Why? because I have no love for you? let God be the judge. 12
But what I do, that I will go on doing, so that I may give no
chance to those who are looking for one; so that, in the cause of
their pride, they may be seen to be the same as we are. 13 For
such men are false Apostles , workers of deceit, making themselves
seem like Apostles of Christ. And it is no wonder; for even Satan
himself is able to take the form of an angel of light. 15 So it is no
great thing if his servants make themselves seem to be servants of
righteousness; whose end will be the reward of their works. II
Cor. 11: 4-15
True apostles sought no glory or big bucks for themselves
But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust
with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but
God, Who tests our hearts. 5 For neither at any time used
we flattering words, as you know, nor a cloke of
covetousness; God [is] witness: I Thess. 2:4-5
True apostles were gentle and selfless to the people of God.
6 Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor [yet] of
others, when we might have been burdensome, as the
apostles of Christ. 7 But we were gentle among you, even
as a nurse cherishes her children: 8 So being
affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have
imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our
own souls, because ye were dear unto us. 2:6-8
True apostles did not emphasize wealth and offerings
9 For ye remember, brethren, our labor and travail: for
laboring night and day, because we would not be
chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the
gospel of God. 10 Ye [are] witnesses, and God [also], how
holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves
among you that believe: I Thess. 2:9-10
True apostles ministered as a father ministers to his
children.
11 As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and
charged every one of you, as a father [doth] his children,
12 That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called
you unto his kingdom and glory. I Thess. 2:4-12
True Apostles were despised wanderers evangelizing
For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles
last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a
spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men. 10
We [are] fools for Christ's sake, but ye [are] wise in Christ;
we [are] weak, but ye [are] strong; ye [are] honorable, but
we [are] despised. 11 Even unto this present hour we both
hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and
have no certain dwelling place; 12 And labor, working
with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being
persecuted, we suffer it: 13 Being defamed, we intreat: we
are made as the filth of the world, [and are] the off
scouring of all things unto this day.

6. UNITY
Perfect unity of the Body is seen as absolutely
essential. The Prayer of John 17, that they might be
One, has not yet been fulfilled according to many
today. For the world will not truly "see" Christ
until the Body is united around the world, and
manifesting Christ corporately.
What is proposed, therefore, is not just a spiritual
unity with each other and with Jesus, but a
perfection, all thinking and believing alike, one
organic whole. (No denominations)
7. THE RELIGIOUS ARE BABYLON
Those who question the Toronto experience are
being called "religious". This also comes straight
out of the Latter Rain teachings!
Denominations and anti-restoration believers are
"part of the old order"; they are the Harlot
Babylon, religious legalists, and new order believers
must leave if they want to be part of the Latter Rain
revival.
And the woman was arrayed in
purple and scarlet color, and
decked with gold and precious
stones and pearls, having a
golden cup in her hand full of
abominations and filthiness of
her fornication: 5 And upon her
forehead [was] a name written,
MYSTERY, BABYLON THE
GREAT, THE MOTHER OF
HARLOTS AND
ABOMINATIONS OF THE
EARTH. Rev. 17:5,6
Come out of her , my people,
that ye be not partakers of her
sins, and that ye receive not of
her plagues Rev. 18:4
8. JESUS THE PATTERN SON
It is taught that the Church must grow as he
did to full maturity, until it can take dominion and
have all power and authority as he has.
9. THE ELIJAH COMPANY
In Latter Rain thinking, there are not one, but
two bodies we have to deal with - the Bride of
Christ, and the Body of Christ. The Body must grow
to perfection within the womb of the global church
(The Bride), be brought to birth, and only then be
manifested to the world as its rulers. The type often
used is that of the Virgin and Christ-Child. Just as
Mary brought forth Jesus into the world, so the
woman, the Bride of Christ has to bring the
Corporate Christ into the world through her travail.
10. THE RAPTURE = THE BIRTH OF THE
MANCHILD:
Since Jesus is the Pattern, it is believed that
the Man child, the Corporate Christ, follows the
pattern of the ministry of Jesus
This group thus receives a baptism of fire,
then has a signs and wonder ministry for for three
and a half years in increasing persecution from the
religious "old order", for the perfect New Order
has not yet come.
And there appeared
another wonder in heaven;
and behold a great red
dragon, having seven heads
and ten horns, and seven
crowns upon his heads. 4
And his tail drew the third
part of the stars of heaven,
and did cast them to the
earth: and the dragon stood
before the woman which was
ready to be delivered, for to
devour her child as soon as it
was born. 5 And she brought
forth a man child, who was to
rule all nations with a rod of
iron: and her child was
caught up unto God… Rev.
For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time [are]
not worthy [to be compared] with the glory which shall be
revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the
creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of
God….. And not only [they], but ourselves also, which
have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan
within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, [to wit], the
redemption of our body Rom.8: 19,23
11. SPIRITUAL WARFARE
This Corporate Christ has power over all demons
and will wage war in the heavenlies and pull down
the satanic strongholds. They will take their place as
the world's spiritual rulers.
12. ALL ENEMIES DESTROYED
Church and World Judged by Man child
The final phase, following the manifestation to the
world of the Sons of God, the Manchild Company,
are that they rule and reign in the heavenlies (ie by
virtue of their spiritual transformation).
Does this sound a little like Jehovah Witnesses?
And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and
night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8 I tell you that he
will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man
cometh, shall he find faith on the earth ? Lk. 18:7,8
Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord
Jesus Christ, and [by] our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye
be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by
word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3
Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come],
except there come a falling away (apostasia ap-os-tas-ee'-ah} first,
and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who
opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is
worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, showing
himself that he is God. II Thess. 2:2-4

at the end of the millennium.
WHERE IS THIS TEACHING
LEADING US?
The concepts of the new revelations, the inner
light, spiritual evolution, and especially the setting
up of a powerful ruling elite in a kingdom on earth,
are opening us up for the reign of Antichrist.
There is little in the above teaching that could not
be mistaken for the doctrine of the New Age.
Indeed, I believe it comes from the same spirit, and
is producing not release, but delusion for the many
hundreds of thousands who have adopted it.
