Our client is currently looking for project accountant for their Alberta office. You will be reporting to the Controller, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for full cycle accounting and financial statement preparation. Additionally, this position will facilitate other compliance tasks including but not limited to: corporate taxes, G.S.T and bank reporting. Responsibilities: Facilitate full cycle accounting and financial statement preparation for various corporate entities within our clients group of companies Prepare bank reconciliations; reconcile sub ledgers to control accounts (accounts payable, accounts receivable, prepaids, foreign exchange). Prepare correcting journal entries when required. Perform tax compliance and other compliance reports Ensure company adherence to relevant accounting pronouncements (ASPE, Hochtief Group Accounting Manual) Prepare billings, reconcile intercompany accounts and monitor cash balances between companies Provide assistance with budgeting and budget variance analysis Prepare files and liaise with external auditors Support and mentor other members of the finance department as needed Other duties and responsibilities as required Ability to analyze and interpret data Strong organization skills and attention to detail Above average computer skills Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with members of the finance team as well as other individuals within the organization Qualifications: 5 years financial accounting experience Completion of a professional accounting program (CA, CMA, CGA) Experience/exposure to Construction/Property Management considered an asset Our client is a progressive and innovative company offering their employees a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package and profit-sharing program.
