SAVE THE CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS ROLE PROFILE TITLE: Roving Logistics Coordinator TEAM/PROGRAM: MEE RO Logistics & Operations GRADE: TBC LOCATION: Amman, Jordan (with considerable travel) CONTRACT LENGTH: Now until end of 2015 (6-8 months depending on recruitment time), with possible extension subject to funding CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 3: the role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in country programs; or are visiting country programs; ore because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff. ROLE PURPOSE: The Regional Logistics Coordinator will assist the Middle East & Eurasia Regional Logistics Manager to improve the capacity and performance of logistics staff / teams in Save the Children International country offices within the region by working with the country office logistics teams. The position holder will be responsible for providing technical support to specific country offices in the Middle East & Eurasia Region with particular focus on Yemen. SCOPE OF ROLE: Reports to: Regional Logistics Manager, Middle East & Eurasia Regional Dimensions: Save the Children works in 15 countries in Middle East & Eurasia, with a large team of staff and multimillion USD of expenditures each year. Staff directly reporting to this post: None KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: The Regional Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for support to country offices in the region through : Supporting regional and country supply chain and logistics strategy implementation Support country offices in analyzing and optimizing their supply chain infrastructure, supplier contracting strategy, purchasing performance and prepositioning strategy Support country offices in carrying out logistics compliance and capacity assessments Involving and aligning global and regional logistics initiatives and activities among the country office logistics and program operations teams Providing logistical training support for the improvement of program implementation Supporting country offices in establishing and reviewing key set of strategic documents (Country Annual Plan, Country Logistics Manual, Country Supply Chain Plan, Emergency Preparedness Plan) Providing logistics technical support / input on core logistics functions and technical logistics issues In conjunction with country office logistics team, provide training in logistics procedures, guidelines and tools (reports/forms) Improving compliance, accountability and performance of logistic functions Monitoring logistics performance through reviewing monthly logistics reports Helping country office logistics teams implement their outstanding logistics related audit recommendations Helping country office logistics teams to comply with Save the Children and donor logistics procedures, standards and guidelines Support fraud, collusion and anti-bribery initiatives, trainings and investigations Providing logistical support for humanitarian emergencies DATE: APRIL 2015 SAVE THE CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS ROLE PROFILE Assisting country office logistics teams in the rapid scale up with effective humanitarian response operations when emergency occur Ready to deploy for a humanitarian response to support the first phase of large emergency Strengthening the capacity of Country Offices Supporting recruitment processes for logistics staff Preparing country office visit reports and following up for implementation of recommendations Supporting the initiation of a regional internal logistic network to support the peer-to-peer and secondment exchange capacity building To execute the above responsibilities, the role will involve short term assignments to country offices based on pre-agreed Terms of References.
